If so many are bored on a Monday then we can speculate on the upcoming season.

Is the addition of Favre to the Jet enough to make the Patriots be concerned?

What is you opionion on the Packers / Favre issues and how it went down.

Who is your pick to win it all this season?
We can't wait until Monday Night Football is back! As a fan of the defending Super Bowl champs, I am looking forward to a good season for the Giants.

Even though the Jets got Favre, they will not be a factor. The Pats, they will win, but, I don't think they will be in Tampa. Yes, Tampa has the Super Bowl this year, and we are here!

I am not sure who to pick yet, so I will wait a couple of weeks and decide.

Love football season!

Ron
Pats will win and win and win. Their offense is way too good and their depth cannot be matched.

Oh and they have a fairly easy schedule.

In Bill we Trust.

To answer my own questions...

Favre is not enough help to make the Jets a threat to the Patriots.

I think both Favre and the Packers showed a lack of class and both came out losers in the end.

My hometown Eagles might as well throw in the towel and rebuild. I think the Chargers might surprise some people but my money is on the Patriots as much as I don`t care for them. If the Bucs can stay healthy and keep the quarterback from crying over spilled milk, they might have an outside chance. That would be awesome to have the home team in the superbowl.
screw the steelers lol

spoken like a true seahawks fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go hawks 4 straight nfc west titles
I forgot about the Seahawks, didn`t I hear they got some offensive help to take pressure of Hassleback?
yea they got a new left guard to team with walter jones to protect his blind side and got juluis jones from the cowboys.
Good, the Cowboys losing Jones makes them weaker and all their problem players are like walking time bombs. Coming from Philadelphia, I have no love for the Cowboys despite the wifes best friends living in Texas.

Plus, Mike Holmgren comes across as a good guy and a great coach. I hope the Hawks do very well this year.
I think the Giants have a shot in the NFC. I just don't think the Pats will have it this year, they will be in the playoffs, but, not the Super Bowl.
well thank u nudest cpl thank u very much :)
just for that u will get a message lol :)
Go Cowboys!!!
I would like to see the titans go to the superbowl and win it. But maybe one day. I followed them over from houston. I just wished they would show more of their games here in salt lake. You can only watch so much of one team all the time. They need to mix it up once in awhile.

When the Packers play the Cowboys I always hope both teams lose. Even though it is impossible you can always hope. lol
OK 2insandy, you busted me. I used to be a closet Cowboys fan when I was a kid and Stauback and Dorsett were idols of mine. And yes, they do have the best looking cheerleaders in the league. I still hope they lose at least to my Eagles. Miracles really do happen. Or at least I hope so.
GO BRONCOS'............

As wife boos in the back ground and screams GO GIANTS!!!!!!
2INSANDY I am with you all the way. GO COWBOYS!!!!!. I dont get much help from the Wife she is a 40winer fan LOL. And a fantacy is to be in a room with all the Cheerleaders naked. Wife said she would hang out with me then. :h
There is no other TEAM but the COWBOYS is there?
Here's a vote for Titletown, USA - been bleeding green & gold since growing up during the 1st glory years!

From America's Heartland - America's true team - Go Pack!!!!!!!!!

(and no I don't particularly want to talk about Brett unless it's kept polite :) )
Chrke, seriously, since it is your home town what are your feelings and what do you thing the majority of the fans feel about the situation and you immediate chances of winning with Rodgers.
I see both sides point of view but I would have trouble parting with the quarterback that took me to 13 and 3 last season. I am not in the drivers seat so that is my totally uneducated guess as to how I would feel.
My Boys!;)
lol!
Damn Wolf, next time it would be polite if you would ask first before posting my picture LOL

NPNUDIST - Thank you for asking.

1) I don't think there really is a "majority" opinion among fans. It has truly been a gut-wrenching thing to watch play out. There is a strong "Favre can do no wrong" camp. There is also a substantial number of fans who saw enough decline in last year's playoff loss that they are more than ready to move on. I doubt that there is any fan in the State that is particularly happy with the way things actually played out. Neither side will be proud of the episode once the dust has settled. (I do have my own personal "take" on the whole thing - but I'm sure you weren't interested in a novel :) )

2) Immediate chances of winning with Rodgers - Rodgers has already been tagged with questionable durability (unfairly in my opinion), and if he should go down, there is currently nothing behind him. He looked good in the first exhibition. Personally, I see talent and a poise and maturity he didn't have three years ago. People have to keep in mind that he was Favre's understudy for three years - and he's a sharp kid. I've heard all kinds of predictions - if Aaron stays healthy, I'll say 11-5.

3) As to finding it hard to part with our 13 -3 Quarterback - we are parting with the largest sports icon we have ever experienced (apologies to Nitschke, et al). If you have never visited Wisconsin/Green Bay/Lambeau Field, it is difficult to describe the "family-loss" feel to the whole thing.

I don't think there is anyone in all of PackerNation that is at all pleased with the way things evolved.

Philadelphia, where I grew up has a history for letting the great players go. This is where I get my feeling of holding on to the 13 and 3 quarterback. Not saying Favre is the same as a Terrell Owens, Pac Man Jones, or so many other troubled athletes that teams make a gamble on, but I can see the organizations frustrations in having a player that seems to always want to retire. How do you prepare a team to play when you are not positive that your star player is going to want to play or retire.

So my question to you is in your opinion do you think this has tarnished the reputation of Favre. And does this effect the organizations chances of landing the top free agents in the near future or will the love of money get these players to sign anywhere.
I think my Raiders can't get any worse this year. The only way is up! lol. Go Raiders!
Ouch, sorry guys. Sounds like the administrator and porno need some of the swingular cheerleaders to cheer them up since their teams won`t be doing it any time soon.

And I am surprised we have no Colts supporters here.
After five losing seasons, three of them with a 4-12 record, the Raiders can only improve. I am looking forward to this season. Hey, they had a couple of unnecessary roughness penalties against SF last Friday. Go Silver & Black!
To NPNUDIST (all others, if you are not a Packer fan you may not be interested) -

"So my question to you is in your opinion do you think this has tarnished the reputation of Favre. And does this effect the organizations chances of landing the top free agents in the near future or will the love of money get these players to sign anywhere."

This is my belief: The annual Favre retirement dance began with the arrival of Thompson. Thompson is no different than most GM's who much prefer the players they have acquired. I think the relationship between the two was doomed from the start. Ron Wolf reveled in the fact that he pulled off one of the greatest acquisitions of all time. Mike Sherman was so far in over his head that the last thing he ever would have done is mess with Favre (and it showed over and over again on the sidelines). Thompson (with the benefit of the unique Packer structure) is, and has to be, the new face of the Packers. Favre's ENORMOUS presence wasn't particularly to his liking. It truly is Big Business where loyalties are fleeting (if they exist at all).

The entire episode will require some historical perspective. This has been a very turbulent, emotional time for all involved (we fans, maybe more than folks realize). Once the emotions subside, I think we will find Favre much less tarnished. It appears Thompson may very well turn out to be a good assembler of talent, but setting the whole Favre issue aside, he would still never qualify for a "Nice Guy" award. Actually, Wolf had a rather crappy public persona also. He was good enough to get away with it - with Thompson, we shall see.

Players signing anywhere for the money? As far as I am concerned, the pendulum has swung so far that way, I won't live long enough to see its return. :)

NO one has said anything about the SKINS! It really doesn't matter if they win or not, you just have to love playing shirts and skins! Or is that skins and skins!!!
NP - I forgot one thing. Who can really find fault with a guy who knows that one of the best therapies for dealing with life's complexities is to go out and ride your lawnmower. As a matter of fact, I think I'll head there right now - have a good one!
On that Raider note...lol:
i would like to say that its good to know that raider nation is alive and well look out this is a new day yesterday was yesterday those other teams will dread the sliver and black....
Well for me it is and will be for years, the Carolina Panthers. The wife is a 49's fan since the nice ass ( her words, not mine) of Dan retired from the Dolphins. With Jake back and Peppers healthy as well who knows?
The Dolphins can't go nowhere but up too. Let's see if the Big Tuna can turn them around. Go Fins!
well we are from texas

Ahhh, Dallas...lol
That looks like the Troy Aikmen head wrap for when he suffered a concussion.
