Ok here it goes I was talking to a cpl friends of ours and was told that Swingular wa son the edge of shutting down.

To be honest with everybody the way its been on here if you arent in UT its hard to get a hand hold on here .
Most people around here have gone to another site .

I haven't heard anything about shutting down but you're right. unless you're in their homestate, it's impossible to even get people to talk to you

Oh hell, just give it time and let it grow. utah, Florida, Alaska who cares. It is a great site and it will grow. Swingers need a contect net and Swingular can and will fit the bill. nothing grows over night... utah has jumped on the site (go figure whith how restricted we are,

I heard that if you don't pass this on to 37 friends, swingular is going to start charging money for your profile. If you repost this 28 times, you will get a free profile. ;P
We will ask that question on the Aug the 16th (Swingular) is coming to Club Elite and parting with all the Tampa Bay Area Swingers....should be a Hot Time.
That rumor, PLAY4SEX is SO UNTRUE! Good to see that you asked, but in so doing may perpetuate the rumor you heard. Our guess is that you would have heard that from some that may be competing with Swingular for members.
We know first hand that the site is going good, and in all honesty it is expanding and getting better. Plans are to move into other states and increase the membership and exposure ..LOL.. so to speak. Only time will tell huh?

lol, don't you just love rumors. That is completely untrue. In fact, it's just the opposite. Swingular is growing bigger and faster. First, the redesign of the site is going to be a huge milestone for us. We are getting closer and closer to the beta launch. Second, we are going city to city to market Swingular locally and expand in every market from small to big. As of right now, we are getting hundreds of sign ups a day. We are listed in the top 10 search results for most all keywords related to swingers and at least in the top 3 for about 5 of them. We have ads in and sponsor events such as SwingFest to help market ourselves worldwide and we are promoting parties across the U.S. We aren't going anywhere, we're here to stay!
I find it hard to believe that SWINGULAR would be even close to terminating its service.. just look at the constant stream on new people that are joining weekly. I dont think ROB would be investing in the upgrades also if he were planning to close the sight.

I would be curious to see what the demographics are of other sights that cater to lifestyles. I have noticed certain websights we belong to seem to attract heavier in various regions. I have no answers, but I think one of the reasons for the activity in Utah and the popularity of this sight could be related to the parties and activities that are generated by the people here. Its not just the swingular parties either.. That can be proven by the break Swingular took from hosting parties for almost a year. It appears to me that this sight has become more of the message board for people in Utah that are looking for these type of activities in this area. Perhaps if the members in other states could generate as much activity and personal contact as it seems happens here in Utah.. the sights popularity in their state would also grow. (BTW, Swingular has brought us together with many great couples outside the Utah area that we otherwise may have never met).
As for the chat room... it is what it is.. people make it fun or boring. It seems to cycle and have its good weeks and its bad weeks. That could be a cause of what is happening around the country. I wonder if the chat isnt affected by holidays, gas prices, available free time to chat due to work, family, obligations .. etc. Whatever, we still find ourselves visiting it frequently either to waste time or to prospect for potential victims.
All that being said.... we are just happy to have a sight to go to and find so many wonderful and sexy people.

HYM4CYN.....very nice post. We agree with you. If more people from other areas would post their parties and interests here on the forum and come in chat, then their area would get more noticed as well.
We too have met some GREAT couples from other states...Even if it is only through the chat room that we get to talk....at least we are meeting people that hopefully we will get to meet one day. We know where to go for vacation now

We're from Wisconsin and Swingular was our 1st site (about 6 mos. ago). We heave visited numerous other sites and have settled on Swingular, an Iowa-based outfit and another with strong midwest membership.
Swingular can't currently compete with the other sites IN EVERY RESPECT for obvious reasons.
If it were simply a matter of finding potential hook-ups, we probably wouldn't still be here. I happen to really enjoy the forum section. There are many savvy and interesting people on this site and I really enjoy most of the information and opinion exchanges.
I have expressed my problem with the site (and I'm not saying it's their problem - just an obstacle for me).
Aside from a glance for email, my eyes head straight for the "5 most recent forum posts". Generally, by Thursday, Friday latest, it is dominated by hook-up attempts or local meeting announcements, etc. - that colors me "gone". None of those many, many posts are really of any interest to us hundreds of miles away - they should have their own separate section - really - take my word for it

That's not how to get to know people or where there form.

PLAY4SEX.. Kudos to you for bringing up both topics. I hope you dont feel attacked, clearing the air on rumors and stopping them before they do too much damage is great. With out discussing somethings openly they never get resolved. We enjoy being able to express opinions in the forums and gain other peoples opinions. Perhaps we need to institute an exhange program from state to state and get to know everyone better. Oh .. wait, wasnt there a show on t.v. about swapping spouses already?

Have to echo what Play4sex said which is true.... we lived in florida at the time and joined our first site there, then we started getting e-mails from this site informing us we had emails ... but the funny thing was, we never joined swingular I checked it and found that we had the same identical profile here that was on the site we had joined, then found out shortly afterwards what had happend.
We decided to stay here but opened a new profile under a different name like many others we knew had done. We left the orginal site we joined, it's mostly people in the southern u.s. area, and we've moved to different states a few times since then, but found out it's also good to be on a few sites, no we don't use all of them, and a couple of them are free, I have my favorite site and hubby has his, but we have met some pretty nice people, found out about a few great vacations that were affordable and have gone to some great parties......

I find it funny that rumors are just that.... rumors.... yet they never seem to go away. The discussion came up again a few days ago and some one had mentioned to me that EVERYBODY thinks Swingular is going out of business. I've heard things from... 'they can't pay their bills, that's why the site stops working around the same time every month...' to... 'Swingular has no security, anyone can get access to your private pictures.'
To set things straight, once again, Swingular is not going anywhere. In fact, we are growing bigger and faster then ever. We continue to create partnerships with local party organizers in each city to expand the reach of Swingular as well as sit in the top 10 results of the search engines for swinger related keywords. Our biggest member base is in fact Florida, however, our second biggest is Texas, followed by, not surprisingly, Utah. The reason why Utah has such a huge base is because of our local presence here. But the fact that Utah seems to dominate is because the locals here are more active in the community then other areas. To help eliminate that feeling, we have created the Booty Call feature to allow people to post meetings there instead of on the forums. And when we launch the new site, we will have a Party Listing feature so you can post your get togethers and parties there instead of on the forums. This should help eliminate the local postings that discourage most others.
Now to answer the comment that we can't pay our bills, not true. As a matter of fact, more people are flocking to Swingular because of the economy situation and how we offer some of the lowest membership fees in the industry. Where else can you get a Lifetime Membership for roughly $40 to $50. Our bills are definitely being paid and paid on time and we have enough money left over to spend on marketing ourselves in local areas to expand our reach. Sometimes we have to take the site down to make some minor changes. Or an unexpected overflow of log entries fills the hard drives to capacity where nothing will run anymore such as the case that happened last month. (Robs fault!).
And for security concerns... The site is very secure. There are not any loopholes and never has the site been hacked as some have said. We use a third party that we pay to do weekly checks on the site for security holes and if something is found, it is fixed immediately. We have not had any issues for years now. Your private pictures are safe from anyone you haven't given permission to view them. We do not obtain any personal information from you that can be traced to your profile either, unless of course, you list something that is personally identifiable on your profile descriptions. The only time we have any personal information from you is when you make a credit card purchase, but even then, we encrypt the contents and store them in a separate database that does not link to your profile.
We have taken every measure possible to make sure you remain anonymous unless you do something to expose yourself. As for your main picture... you have the choice to make it viewable by the outside world. We do allow google to spider the forums, however, if you select to make your profile hidden, your main picture is not shown. So unless you are using the same username that you use for your personal life (which we highly recommend you DON'T do, if so contact us to have it changed), no one can ever figure out who you are. Pictures that are posted in the forums are blurred and reduced and marked with red wording so nobody can make them out either. The only thing the outside world can see is the messages that are posted. And again, unless you post identifiable information, no one will ever figure out who you are.
As for the expansion, we are getting closer to launching the new site and new features. We expect a beta launch date of around mid-October. Things are looking good but we keep changing things here and there and that is part of why it is taking so long. But we promise, when things are ready, you won't be disappointed!
