This may be an old idea. But it works great on other forums. It would be nice to have the ability to IM someone online on the site. What do you think?
As I recall Swingular used to offer that feature, however I recall there were issues with is (I don't remember specific to what), and ADMINISTRATOR removed the option.

The IM will return with the upgrades, we're actually testing it right now with a few users on the site.

Anyone can test it, make sure you enable Instant Messaging in your settings. Then click Launch Messenger Beta from the home page on the top of the column to the right. Log in with your username and password and you're live. Right now, you can only request an IM from the Who's Online and Search Results pages. More to come as we move along including a redesign of the interface. Enjoy!
SWEET!!!!! I added a lot of my friends, hopefully they will do the same, can't wait to IM on singular!
