Today we lost a remarkable man - George Carlin. He was willing to step out of the box with his comedy and I personally shall miss his comedic views. So long, Mr Carlin - you will be greatly missed.......

Very sad news, we will miss him.
just saw his show a few weeks ago here in salt lake and now i am really glad i took the time to see him again because there wont be anouther chance
Damn I hadn't heard about this yet what happend to him? He was a very funny guy and always seemed to have allot of the same views as me. I wish I could have seen him live. RIP....
George Carlin was one of the biggest advocates to free speach and incredibly funny. He was just here in Utah a few weeks ago, and I am sorry I missed the show.
I grew up listening to George Carlin albums (Vinyl) and when I hear some of his bits on Stuff, the weather, and those 7 words, it still makes me laugh.
RIP

NO FUCKIN WAY!!! That is a tragedy. Atheist, Liberal, A man of witty genius and a influence on me. It's a sad day indeed.

Two tragic deaths in one week George Carlin and Scotty Kallita at least Scotty went out the way he wanted in a drag race car.
Who?
TR just because Scotty Kallita is not some atheist liberal does not give you the right to make fun of those who morn I'm not a big drag race fan but this guy has a family too show some respect! Get off the computer and U-tube once in awhile and watch the News he died in a tragic Funny car crash this past Sat during qualifying but I know you knew that as the great TR Knows all!
"WHO"
"WHO"
We have lost some greats in the past few weeks. Along with Carlin and Kallita, also lost were Harvey Korman, Bo Diddley, Tim Russert, & Jim McKay.
Uh...AMPUSSY...why don't you just get off of that ivory tower of a soapbox, and take a deep breath...and fucking relax.
Believe it or not...there are some of us Americans who don't follow NASCAR, or motorized events, or whatever the heck it is that Mr. Kallita did. You see....I was scratching my head too...wondering who the hell is Scotty Kallita?
However, I now consider myself informed...especially after reading your "interesting" response to TR's simple question of "who?".
Maybe I should get my ass off of YouTube and Swingular, and start watching NASCAR on TV, huh...
BTW...wtf is a FUNNY CAR??

WHOA How did a eulogy forum turn into a catfight?
Dang... I hate the idea of loosing George Carlin. I loved using his material and insight for training or thoughts during our executive meetings.
A sad loss indeed... he changed the face of comedy forever.
We are thankful to have had him in our lives and he will be very very missed.

So now simply asking who someone is, is deemed an attack ?????
Such a vicious response simply for asking who someone is????
Tis a sad day indeed.

NASCAR?
What is Nascar? Is this one of George Carlin's old bits?
Carlin was an entity of his own..what a loss, seems I grew up with him and was lucky enough to see him in concert in San Diego,The world has lost a true genious. Who will teach the next generation the 7 dirty words?
..and thats the not-so Happy Hippy Headline for the day..

..and thats the not-so Happy Hippy Headline for the day..

It is a very sad day indeed. I never miss watching one of his HBO specials when it plays. and knowing there will be no more is a tragedy.
But remember he never really died, he just: passed on, had a negative therapeutic interaction, kicked the bucket, or joined the happy hunting ground. I am sure that someone will smoke one in your honor sir. Rest in peace.

Thanks TR for the link. At least this gives some laughter which is fuckin funny, in the midst of this loss, and wouldn't Geroge want that. RIP
We will miss him very much.
George Carlin along with Cheech and Chong provided me with countless hours of laughter. We will miss Grorge Carlin and wish his family the best. I don`t think an entertainers passing has saddened me this much since Jerry Garcia from the Greatful Dead.
Not sure who Scotty Kallita is but assume it is maybe the son of Connie Kallita who I am somewhat familiar. We do wish the family the best also in this trying time.

AMPUSSY,
Go easy. I asked who, because I didn't know and offered you an opportunity, as an obvious NASCAR fan, to pay your respect and educate those who don't know, just who the heck the guy is. You are right, I do not follow NASCAR... you do. So, who better to ask the question of WHO, than you? My intent or what I said was not disrespectful.
Perhaps you should take a break from the forum, you're taking it too personally. Just because we do not agree politically, doesn't mean you have to make excuses to attack me in other threads. I think it's you who is dishonoring both men, by picking a senseless fight in a thread meant to honor them.
So, consider my hand out offering a shake. Let's just let this one go. It's not worth it. It's cool. OK?
-D-
P.S. I googled the NASCAR driver, Scotty Kallita and must say that it is horrible what happened. My best wishes to his family, friends and fans.

"Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, CockSucker, MotherFucker, and Tits"
At least 4 of the words we all like to use in this lifestyle. Thanks to Carlin for breaking down the walls of communication in our society and allow us to actually say what we mean, even on television!
"You can prick your finger but don't finger your prick. No,no."
~George Carlin~ (1937-2008)
Prick's up for Carlin - you'll be missed!

Will miss him very much! Loved his intelligent wit.
I dont know if this helps those of you that are not into motorsports or not but i will try a civilized response.
George Carlin , Scott Kallita are among some of the great heros of the last few years. Although in different areas of interest they are on the same pedestal.
George Carlin , comedian, free speech activist, actor, and ( The ONE guy your parents warned you about !) Always making you laugh and making all blush with his candor and bluntness. The FCC censors always jumping his butt about his show conent and language gave us all hope that some day the USA in general wouldnt be quite so uptight.
Scott Kallita ,NHRA (National Hot Rod Association)champion was a very big advocate on drag racing safety, also very big on KHRA ( Kids Hot Rod Association) taking the high school racers and street racers off the street and putting them on the dragstrip, making the streets safer for us and them.
Scott son of famed Connie Kallita was one of the most formidale people of drag racing of his time. Getting new safer barriers at the end of NHRA sponsered tracks, reformulating the speed brackets to make the bracket racers safer.
One little known fact about Scott was that he worked with Ford,GM and Chrysler some in the mid 90's on their safety restrains in the vehicles we drive, to make them better and stronger.
He will be greatly missed by those of us who knew him and those whos life he affected.
Now someone asked what a "funny car" is. Example; Take your regular 2dr car add about 3 ft between the wheels extend the body to match the new wheel base. Make the frt short in height and raise the height of the back and put a big wing on it. Looks funny , huh...lol
Thats basically what a funny car is. Now add tubing for a roll cage and frame put the driver in the middle of the car drop in a 1500 or 2000 horsepower engine and you have the basics of a funny car like what Scott what driving.
Just in case you were wondering about the horsepower on their engine part being so high. The vehicle you drive has a horsepower rating (stock off the showroom floor) of 95 Hp to 350Hp. Your doing the 1/4 mile in 17 seconds they are doing the 1/4 mile in 6 seconds.Thats faster than a nervous inexperienced kiss.
I hope this helps those that dont follow motorsports to understand who Scott Kallita was and why he will be missed by those of us that do follow motorsports.

NHRA is not NASCAR.......totally different fans totally different type of racing the biggest difference is that in about 3 or 4 seconds.......your gonna know who won.....Also Motorcyclecple........its more like 15,000 horsepower and in most cases burning the 1/4 mile in 3 to 4 seconds at speeds of like 317MPH running on pure Nitro Methane......It was a ugly crash and Scott will be greatly missed by NHRA fans he was one of the greats and in a third generation family of drivers. We will all most certainly miss George Carlin he was one of the Comedic Greats as well.
