This an email I recieved..... Nice.
Sorry but I can't debate you.
After seeing how many times you have said "god bless" in your posts
I have no other choice but to conclude that you are delusional.
Any intelligent person who can make a case in his imagination that there
actually exists a big daddy up in the sky who is controlling everything is.... delusional !!!!!
Have fun with your imaginary friend

Yes, this post should realy bring out the class people... let it ride.. Jerry Springer fans or should I say Jerry Springer guests...
*chants* Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!
Come on now... Dont get smart... stay the way you are..
I learned a LONG time ago...that you simply can't reason with the unreasonable. This goes for the God-Mongers and Athiest-Nazi's alike...oh, and of course everyone in between.

Diversity is what keeps life interesting...provided we all stay off of our soapboxes. That goes for everyone!

RIDERZ: Love the comic relief....haha..thank you!

That was bullshit. I am an atheist as well, but I respect anyone's right to believe what they wish, as long as they don't try to legislate their dogma.

It has been really hot here in Florida and maybe the heat got the best of them. Personally, we feel the world is segregated enough and we don`t want to make it worse by segration of religious beliefs.
SEXYCTCOUPLE.. I feel bad that you recieved that letter but.... I guess you can expect that on a site where anyone with or without a sense of dignity can email you.
Im certain that I am going to get quite the feedback on this but... who cares! lol
It has always amazed me how those who do not believe in any form of "god" (regardless of relegion) seem to have "free reign" in regards to what they put out there OR how offensive it could be for those who believe in a higher being.
To each their own... just as I would hate someone shoving ANY religion down my throat I EQUALLY hate someone putting up mockery bullshit regarding someone elses beliefs and promoting the views of an athiest.
So to that I say.... Save it RIDERZ. I don't need that anymore than I need the Baptist preacher passing a plate to me or mormon missionaries knocking on my door.
You are absolutely no different.
Now if you want to make remarks as to how nice SEXYCTCOUPLE's breast look then I am all ears!!!

Damn... thats screwed up shit... granted exeryone is entitled to their own opinion... even tho some are like ass holes and stink... but slamming u and your beliefs is not only rude but down right ignorant... as many of u know some people be-little others and put their beliefs down because they either dont understand or are afraid of the knowledge and enlightenment that comes from broadening ones horisions.... they would rather knock others down to make them selces feel better... it sucks that someone is so close minded that when u expressed concern they choose to slam u... its sad that there are people in the world that are that way...
im not sure where i would fit i as far as religion goes.. i was born and raised till 16 in the mormon church... then when 19 or so went to church with my sister (catholic) for a few years... but as far as saying i am devoted to one belief or another ... im not... but as far as things go i try to avoid discussing religion as much as politics...
Chad could u e mail me your attachment "apathy" itd make for a real cool tattoo....

thanks Dennis

SEXYCT, we are sorry to hear that you received such an e-mail. We have not agreed with everything you posted but we respect your right to post it. We encourage you to continue to speak your mind and express your opinions. If everyone starts feeling the same way and having the same opinions we might want to check the water. Have a great day all!

I am the "asshole" that wrote that response to him.
And his integrity or lack thereof is proof enough that he doesn't deserve
to be treated with kindness. That's how I feel concerning him.
You're some piece of work.
I honored your request to cease written communication with you.
I see how honorable your verbal commitment to let it rest and not post what was said is.
I apologize, because I was out of line to bring his beliefs into the picture.
I had already sized up my feelings about him based on his forum posts.
In the meantime that day,
I got yet another bulletin on Myspace that was pushing Christian ideals
in the worst possible way I can think of...
"Dear god why did you allow all those school children to be killed"
"Because I am not allowed in public schools"
Reading that made me see red.... the anger welled up in me.
And when I logged on here and got a letter
from him.... I took it out on him and that was wrong of me.
So I apologize for saying to him how I truly feel inside about religion in general.

I must admit, I found the inititial thread-opener in poor taste. You know...the one where specific names were given in what should've been an otherwise "discreet" communication process?
I didn't say anything regarding my feelings, because I thought they might be misconstrued as "inflammatory".
It's generally considered uncool to air one's laundry in open like that, it certainly brings drama and on the whole is not very "christian", so much for "turning the other cheek", eh (didn't someone famous say that once?).
I've heard that that's a value some people of that mindset actually cherish.
If you ask me (yes, I know no one asked, but here's my opinion)....this entire thread should be deleted (ahem...originator, YOU'RE the one that may take responsibility for doing that).
It's argumentative, inflammatory, started of with bad ju-ju and is simply demonstrative of certain peoples' characters.
In short...it sucks! The vast majority of those in our culture are not evolved enough to handle having an intelligent, objective discussion about religion as it is, and perhaps this is one of the FEW subjects that has no place on Swingular.
We all have belief systems, and they each work for us. If you get attacked in a personal e-mail...keep it private, and get OVER it.
If you feel so inclined, simply forward it to ADMINISTRATOR, as I'm certain he will deal with any abuse that you perceive coming your way.
Grow up...mmkay??

I've tried to copy and paste and I can't get it to work on this site.
Unfortunately that caused me to leave out things I wished to address..
but perhaps looking back... that's a good thing.

Aint that a bitch..... He should have thought of that before he before he attacked me.. He threw the first shot and then didnt let it go. The forum is one thing personal attck is another.. Life's a bitch then you get email...
Well it's always someone else's fault...now ain't it? I just don't get it....
Oh and do us a favor and hit the delete button
I think Bel said it best, so I just copied what she said.
This sums up my 2 cents:
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
-- The Friends of Voltaire, 1906, Beatrice Hall
-Bel
Also agree with ThoughtGarden, time to grow up and put on some big girl panties/big boy undies and grow up............. mkay? (directed to both parties) Its okay to disagree. Not so cool to drag it to the main stage for all to see. Its okay to discuss the whole God topic, not cool to randomly email someone just because they say God Bless and tell them they are a fucking idiot.
riderz, I copied all your picture comments and love them.

Sexyctcouple. You did nothing wrong and to hell with the intolerant sons-o-bitches. I'm not religeous, but being blasted for saying God Bless is just so fucking ridiculous.
The great 'I am' that is refered to in the Bible is God, the Lord and Holy father...
Athiests believe that there is no all powerfull 'being'... that we are all the same 'energy' just displaced in different forms, That at the end of your rotting flesh life, you will become part of that greater cause again...
They (athiests) believe that once we as a human race actually see through the 'sham' of religion that we will be better as man kind. That we will be independent from outside influences and will be able to work to that greater cause.
Once we as a species have come together to form this 'unified thinking' than we will be working as ONE. We will no longer define ourselves as you, me us them or we in the time that we live in... we will simply be the 'I am'... the here and now
Just a thought from the great (history) book of the bible. Kinda funny those people back then were great thinkers, just not very good with words. They just had to create ways for the masses to understand their philosophical thinking. Sad the modern day man can't do that tho

Thank you..
Its sad to think that we are now living in a country where if you say God bless or Merry Christmas. It is thought of as an attack.... Thank you ACLU.. what happen to we need to live in harmony and respect eachothers freedoms?

And I find it even sadder that intelligent men and women..
otherwise brilliant people in every single field we know of...
throw reason and logic to the wind when it comes to god and religion.
I find it sickening when I read that a child has died because the
practice of modern medicine went against a parents religion.
I find it sickening the amount of blood being spilled on a daily basis
all over our world... in the name of religion.
MAYBE IF OUR LEADERS DIDN'T BELIEVE IN HEAVEN
THEY WOULDN'T BE SO QUICK TO SEND OUR CHILDREN TO DIE
IN THE WARS THEY START.
You have a problem over saying Merry Christmas????
THAT'S YOUR BIG PROBLEM??????
wahhh wahhhh wahhhhh
Say it all you want... who cares!

our children and our children's children will grow up in a better world.
It's called "Humanism" and there is no greater good I can think of.
As Jewel wrote, "...in the end, only kindness matters."
P.S. Thanks Riderz & "The Don" those keyboard shortcuts worked like a charm!!
I'm so torn between wanting to get my side heard... and knowing this doesn't belong on swingular. But I also feel so strongly in my heart that when religion is abolished once and for all, we as a species will finally begin to realize world peace for the first time.

I declare first that I am not taking sides... as long as humans exist, so will this argument...
My comments do apply either way, look at them with reason and without emotion or religious fervor. I will show that the outcome is more important than either side in this "belief" argument.
This may sound harsh at first but both sides bear with me here... and think.
if we could start by just eliminating Religious Philosophy as Political Policy that would be a giant step forward and toward peace. Goodness is good whether it is being preached by a religious sect or an Atheist. Even the Darwinists believe that Happiness, Joy and Peace are important conditions for the species to thrive...
So we really have no argument... Humanists, Darwinists, Atheists, Agnostics, Deists and the Religious (all sects) believe that Happiness, Joy and Peace are the best way for us to thrive. (please leave me alone about the few wild exceptions to this, I mean in general)
Even some of our Founding Fathers, contrary to popular belief, (jefferson particularly) were quite concerned about the results of undue influence by religious thought on the Republic and in Government. This seems contradictory but its true.
Governments do not need to be in the morality business at all. The religious should not be offended if the government has NO religious symbolism in it whatsoever. Its really ok for Government to be neutral, Religion is handled at the level of the respective churches and although it may seem comforting, government should have none of it and it should just be neutral as regards to religion. Governments are really just a bunch of people with jobs anyway. We cant tell them how to believe so how can we think that the inanimate Government should take a stand on religion? Thats like saying the Protestant families on the block can tell the Jewish families that the need to display the Cross, just because theres more of them. And we can't argue that since our Founders were mostly Protestant that Protestant Religious Philosophy should be laced throughout our governmental influences because then we really piss off the Catholics and the Atheists too!
It would be good if all believed in their Deity or lack thereof peacefully, side by side with a little, "well, I respect and will defend your right to those beliefs even tho I believe completely differently." (There is absolutely no need, nor religious precedent to add the words "you stupid idiot" to the end of that sentence.)
There are those that say to embrace God and Religion is to suspend reason entirely... but then science can't decide which string theory version will actually prove to be science after all... (until new science comes along and replaces it, as it always does) but hey... its an un-winnable argument. Lets have it in the form of a conversation and do what the Religious and the Darwinists both say to do... be happy, love your families, contribute to the peace and joy of the life experience for all! Its good for the humans... (and it will please God if you so believe)
If the Governments only measure of what was deemed Good or Bad, Moral or Immoral was this simple Constitutional rule, the world would be a better place... it goes: Your Right to swing your fist ends where the tip of my nose begins". See, its not a religious tenet, its just wisdom, and its good. And thats all Governments should be. Neutral as to religion, wise and looking for the greater good for all while abiding the aforementioned principle. And that my friends is really up to us. Start by doing what you can in your own neighborhood... this site is a neighborhood, look how much tolerance, openness and freedom we all share. Most of you would gladly let me enjoy naked pics of your wives... and some of you would gladly let me have sex with her, and cheer me on while I did it! What a great neighborhood we have after all!
And thats all I have to say about that...

D, if only.... if only what you present could be true, then perhaps..
You are presenting a live and let live principle. That might work if were only so, but it isn't.
Every religious faction wants to push it's principles on others...
and they all have their own set of rules.
They absolutely do not all believe that happiness, joy and peace are the best ways to thrive.
(ask any homosexual) (ask any cartoonist in Denmark) and on and on....
Fear of the unknown is the common denominator in religion!
Read just 2 chapters of the book "The End Of Faith" by Sam Harris
and then reconsider what you've presented here.

Question: Does saying it make it so?
His arguments are excellent and logical but if excellent and logical arguments was all it took to convince people of things we would all be thinking alike by now. Every issue deserves thorough and thoughtful consideration. Just because Sam Harris or Thomas Jefferson says it does not mean there are not well reasoned and logical arguments to the contrary. And some people will choose to believe each of them.
I said that intentionally, "choose to believe" because if any of what you profess to believe was provable, there would be no argument. To the contrary if God could be proven then there would be no argument.
Both sides are based on "belief". Yes, science can establish certain things to be true about evolution etc and much of it contradicts prior religious teachings but it is yet to be absolute, so, there will be debate.
As for Happiness Joy and peace, you say some religious movements don't seem to want that... but I say they do. They want it for their own people, and the percent of those fanatics that are menaces to global society is very small but they make alot of news. So, like I said, lets not waste time on the obvious social wack jobs... we know about them.
Other religions want to spread their beliefs by talking about it... good for them, but not many since the middle ages are trying to use the sword.
Anyway, I am the one that advocated NO Religious Philosophy as Political Policy and if you read Sam Harris' book well then you should have recognized that concept, he mentions it as well. Governments can be sectarian and religiously neutral, it takes people letting go of their fears and leaving religion to the churches and governing to the elected ones... by the way. Saddam Hussein ran a completely sectarian govt in that hot bed of religious fanaticism so it can be done. Imagine how much easier in a cool country like ours.
And lastly, I say that my point of view is not superior... nor is yours. They are different and they are likely to change as we age and grow wiser. So lets be respectful, and remember, as David Hawkings said in his profound work called Power vs Force, it only takes a small number of people living higher minded, as you are in many ways and I'm sure others who posted here are in many ways to affect for the positive the whole enchilada.
Anyway, I accidently deleted my much more thorough and eloquent crock of bull and I don't have the energy to do it again...
As for Religious people being screwed up because of their fear of the unknown... I would say that religious folk believe they have it all figured out. Its the Atheists that have no freakin clue what "nothingness" is all about
Peace brother... we love Florida...

Don'tcha just hate when that happens???
It completely takes the wind out of my sails when that happens.
I will leave it at that. Thank you for your kind compliment.
I do aspire to affect the whole enchilada in a positive way.
It's an uphill battle as you can imagine.
Perhaps we'll bump into one another at Caliente sometime...
It's just down the road a few miles from where we live.
Peace, good health and prosperity to all....
Mike
Don'tcha just hate when that happens???
It completely takes the wind out of my sails when that happens.
I will leave it at that. Thank you for your kind compliment.

Mike and D,
I am so glad to see more than myself saying what has been said here so far. I have long held that only through disolving religion as an influence on government that we as the Human Race can ever hope to experience anything close to true peace.
You both have given me a couple books to look into and I hope to find them both soon.

Ok, I tried not to come back and be a bitch but I think this needs said. For those of you who whine and cry about not being able to mention God on a swingers site....... please remember this is the same God who will send you to hell for fucking someone other than your spouse.
I honestly think both parties are in the wrong, and thats what I'm sticking with.

Can't be worse than my old man he worships a cartoon squirrel. Seriously. A preacher told him he must believe in something, after he said he was an athiest. And he decided to tell the preacher he is the Fope, and the High Priest of the Foamistary, the religon of Foamy the cartoon squirrel. (www.illwillpress.com)
Maybe you are a Foamist too?

It's definitely not the Christian God. Oh and I agree that religion has to go in order for true peace to be born. The first step is to remove it from our government.

oooh touche. Look no one wants to take anythign away from anyone. I just don't agree with how it was handled on either side. One guy gets sick of seeing Christian stuff on myspace or whatever and attacks the first person he encounters after that who says God Bless. She in turn drags it out for the public to chew up and spit out however it will go.
*I* said that the Christian God will condemn folks to hell for "coveting thy neighbors wife" and adultery. Which falls inot me beign married and saying "Hey what are you doing tonight? To anyone who isn't my hubby." Lets not even bring all the crap about homosexuality, and I'm sure that can be stretched into bi sexuality the God of the Bible is against.
Jeez. Get a clue.
