I have an issue with them showing swingers as predatory and also the widespread drug use. However, like others said, drug use like that was rather prevalent at the time. Oh well, I am a fan and plan on watching or recording it every week.

We thought it was pretty great! They even had "reclaiming the territory" sex the next morning. We'll be watching it...until it's thrown off the air...

We haven't watched it yet. We recorded it on DVD and plan to get to it tomorrow. From what most of you have said though we are looking forward to seeing it. We must be honest, we weren't expecting too many possitive reviews but this uplifts our spirits. Of course if it good then it will be cancelled by next week huh? ;-) lol Have a great Friday all!

Two thumbs up here! We were doing a sleep study last night , and the nurses wondered which show we were enjoying so much!..lol 
watched the show i did like it. i was impressed with how smooth they were. best part was hey take your shoes off mom and join the party, she was bitchy
The show was fun to watch. We know it is Hollywood, but did anyone notice that even though it is set in the 70's that there were no physically misproportionate (out of shape) or old people at the house party? Even though the dress and look was different they were all sexy and sexual attractive people for that day.
The drugs they used back then, Quaids, have now changed to "E"? Wow has things changed over time - LOL.
Great fun show to watch we are sure we will be watching it till it gets the boot. We may have to do a house party and watch it with some fun sexy people then do reenactments afterwards

As far as "predatory", who among us has not seen a nice looking couple in the neighborhood and wondered "do they play?" or thought about asking a vanilla couple out just to see if they would?
I hope CBS doesn't screw it up, this could be a good series.

Being that I was in the health jail for the lat week or so..... IS this a documentary or a drama or what? From what I've just read, is it a series or a docudrama/mini series? What time is it supposed to be on? And finally I'm wondering if it will be on in NC the Bible belt where swinging is big but the constant fight to ban alcohol with alcoholism on the rise and rather pervasive. People become blind if they don't see their neighbor or church member at the ABC store.... But sex is something to be kept in the family....literally. Where someone's cousine could be their SO and their babys parent. I guess that makes them the uncle/aunt daddy/mommy or some such...
So, I guess I would like to know when it cums on in the rest of the cuntry, particularly on the East coast...

I thought it was real good. Hopefully it will stay on, and not be cancelled because of content. I do think for that reason it should have been on HBO, or showtime. We made sure to watch it as well. Started off great, just hope they keep it that way. Im just afraid they are gonna turn it into a whole "swinging is only a marraige killer thing"...did ya see the way that Susan looked at Roger (oh ya..she wants him & i cant see Janet going along with that).

Back in the fifties it was taboo to even show a married couple sleeping in the same bed..it took a tv exec with some balls to push the envelope.. and to let some shows that would upset some people air... I think this could be one of those shows that pushes that proverbial envelope just a tad more.. This is how real life is.. Not everyone lives up to the "bible thumpers" standards and code of morality.. and in reality..the second they point a finger at you... bibically they have just become hypocritical because they aren't perfect either... Just our 2 cents Anyways. Great show and we hope that they portray the lifestyle for what it really is and not just a bunch of sex crazed drug addicts... because its so much more than that........

I thought the show sucked. It had potential but it was so slow. There was not a good hook. It will be interesting to see if it makes it out of the mid-season cycle to be a regular.
We loved it as well. We assume, as of after "Dancing with a stars" dancing school were packed, after a few episodes of SWINGTOWN, Swingers clubs will be getting a new crowd.

We both sat and watched the first episode, last night is still on the DVR. I think everything is actual to the 70's era. I just hope that all the drug use is not used against the lifestyle in this era. That people actually think about it and say yes that's the way it was back in the 70's. I hope that more people try it and not let the 70's peace n love mixed with weed and cocaine get in the way...... of true swinging

We thought it was a great show.
we liked it and record it on DVR. It all looks pretty much "period" for the times. My only thought is: I wonder how many people will watch that and think they can be swingers?
Throwin a vanilla party, and inviting the swingers..friggin hilarious!! We all know when the fun began!!! We loved it!
We love the show and are happy to see that it is realistic, someone did their homework. We think it will cause a spike in interest ( flood of newbies that won't stay) but it may also help people to see that we are their neighbors and co-workers and its not one big orgy. Hopefully the show will last and maybe have a spin off thats not in the seventies without the drug use.

This is such a fun show... I love watching it and can really relate to the characters. It is funny who you can see from people in the lifestyle around here, in the show characters... I find my self thinking, wow, thats just like ?????.
