Just wondering if anyone else was wondering what ever happened to house parties. Seems all we do is go to clubs anymore. Personally I am sick of the noise at the clubs, you can't talk to anybody without yelling at them. Plus the prices for booze is getting ridiculous, cheaper to buy and mix your own.

I dunno, some clubs are annoying, but unless I know the group and know the reputation of the house party, I'm not inclined to go. I've been to too many where it ended up that only 4 people showed up and it was just not that great. I know several people that throw awesome house parties though and I WOULD pick that over a club. 
I do like clubs though...makes it so I can entertain myself if I'm bored and not look stupid. :P

We are definatly for the house party idea vs the clubs. we like clubs but for us its either the Club everyone else goes to or none actually its more or less one club that neither one of us like and when we go no one talk to us ( have no clue why). We still have not been to a club because house parties have been so much fun for us. We got started in the lifestyle at house parties and since we are so comfortable in that situation we have no desire to change it by starting in the club scene. We use meet and greets for yahoo groups as a way to meet new people to invite to our house parties we host.
We are enjoying a quiet weekend alone. With the hot tub at 95 degrees and the pool up to 90 degrees we put the volley ball net back up. Time for naked volley ball as an ice breaker at our monthly or more frequent house parties.

Well since we are new to this area of things we would prefer house parties and both of us are very tired of clubs and Bars and rarely meet people we like so house parties are alot better and if some one wants ust to come and meet people just drop us a message as we love to meet new people and especially people in this area of our life.. lol good friends are always welcome and then if chemistry is right wow watch out fires go quick.. lol

we really dont go to club anymore, we usually host parties about 1-2 month, dont ask for dontions, dont ask for anything but just come byob and have fun, only stipulation is no single men. We were tired of outragous prices for drinks, cover and never really talking and getting to know anyone. Now we have regulars that come to our parties and we have much more fun, even if nothing sexual happens for us, we just like to have a good time with no pressure. And we now know where our money is going....lol. Ok well I put my 2 cents in.

I think a house party would be awesome....never been to one though. I keep moving so I have few friends. I come from Oklahoma "bible belt" so friends that understand and accept the lifestyle my husband and I desire are hard to find. In Tucson,AZ now and I am trying to figure out where to move after here to be overwhelmed by the freedoms true "swingers" offer! Any suggestions?

Last club we went to was back in 2001 in Germany we have tried a few local what they call "lifestyle socials" to us its nothing more than a glorified dance where you pay $30.00 and then outrageous drink prices since 2001 we have been going to house parties and have been having a blast for us house parties are the way to go :-) On the other hand if we had the chance to visit the on premises swing clubs in Europe again we would do it in a heart beat everything around us here in Florida is just lifestyle socials.

Clubs are ok, if you already know at least a few people and they are willing to show you around and introduce you, provided you can even hear yourself think much less talk.
Then the only problems with house parties are: 1) if you don't know the hosts or get a good recommendation from a guest then you get excluded; 2) you sometimes have to worry about the neighbors; 3) if you get bored its kinda hard to make a good escape without being noticed.
Typically I much prefer a house party, at least when I can find a date since single guys are usually excluded. Its easier to get to know people and if the sparks catch just the right way then there is usually someplace to go without having to worry about who drives, etc.
I have hosted a few but when you have a wife that doesn't play due to health problems, it can make for some akward moments. Oh well , I guess I will likely have to just stick with Eden house benefits of both worlds in one location.

We enjoyed the Ace of Hearts in Portland, OR for years until it went to including single men for most nights. We met alot of playmates there, though we often met up with them at home or their place on other times. I think that was because we were more interested in quality time with just them. A few of the hous parties we went to were fairly closed and we did not feel particularly wanted as a couple and most times men out numbered women 3 to 1. K usually does not like to feel like she has a target painted on her. One of our favorite clubs was 241 in St Maarten, but they closed and relocated to Colombia this year.
Since this post started three years ago, and the fact that I've been clubbing here all my life, not much has changed. There is little we the people can do to improve the subject matter except for say move away or stay at home.
Back in the day one could cruise State St and our club scene here in Salt Lake was better. You still had to fork over a membership fee, unless someone sponsored you, but the music and vibe made up for it.
Once the city ordinance banned cruising all types of want to be thugs and desperate guys flooded the scene and thought it was ok to go stick their dick up a woman's ass from behind. All I, the male, had to do was wear my leather vest and dance like nobody was watching to have a great time.
Luckily the rave scene carried me away from the clubs in the early nineties, which is still going strong after fifteen years. Guess ecstasy and ketamine weren't as harmful as claimed. Now I wonder how all these kids arrive at the parties. Many don't look old enough to drive and haven't dropped their balls yet???
Maybe the fact that I was ten years younger helped and that the liquor laws didn't come in a hundred page book. What generation is clubbing important to? Does it really suck or does the clubbing lifestyle get old?

Do the two dozen or more running clubs around town suck? They can only be as much fun as you and the law allows. Like anything there are pros and cons. Maybe moderation is key or an attitude adjustment need to be made.
One thing is for sure. The private club gave me what I needed at just the right time. The Raskals woman I married five years ago makes up for the ringing in my ears, the long lines and eight dollar cocktail drink.

Well we do enjoy a house party from time to time,but for us it is all about the Club,we have one within 20 min of us (on premise)... game room ....a beautiful buffet great dance floor to flirt and play feely touchy,bump and grinding and if all goes well....off to the on premise side for a nite of sex no one will ever forget,so what can be any better than that,,,(WINK)

It is why I joined a pretty exclusive group in Chicago. We meet in a private home...there are no fees...all members are checked ahead of time and all are experienced swingers who want to play and are attractive. I LOVE IT! I exclusively swing there, with people I meet there or if recommended by friends I swing with there.

I would like to comment on this one considering we are club owners and have experienced both sides of the lifestyle clubs and house parties. Of course, there are some good clubs, some not so good clubs that just do not fit into the lists of places that we would attend to again. Nothing against the clubs but just not, what we are looking for.

Every day you see clubs, parties come and go, and it is a sad thing to see since most of us have become attached to these clubs and parties and the people who attend them.
It's a wonderful thing to see that clubs today are becoming more newbie friendly and no pressure environment. In addition, a lot of the clubs and house parties have gotten more creative in the ideas to make the clubs and parties more successful and catering to the lifestyles needs. One thing we all must realize is that we have sooo many new choices in the lifestyle it's really awesome to see so many new clubs and parties are coming out daily catering to each and everyone of you!

Arizona was that way with their "swinger" clubs. That was what they were specifically designed for. They could only have, what they call, a juice bar (no alcohol was served). The clubs here are just regular clubs. No nudity allowed. You recognize the difference when you weren't born and brought up here and have experienced the "true" lifestyle elsewhere. We definitely prefer house parties as well.

Is it just me or are the existing house parties a bit secretive and exclusive these days? I pick club parties cuz I just can't seem to get myself an invite anywhere else anymore. *sniffles* lmao. Someone needs to get something regular going again. Maybe have a regular after hours location again.

House Parties: where to begin. from reading through this thread i have surmised that y'all like the house parties over clubs. i tend to agree on a few of the pros and also the cons. you have freedom...you spend very little money..you have intimacy...you have control over how many people show up, who shows up...when they show up..what is brought by your guests if its byob or foodstuffs. you can have themes like togas...a halloween..a christmas...an easter haha (ill totally dress up like the easter bunny if thats what yer into) and you basically have control over what takes place...throwin down tarps and butterscotch pudding or you bring in the donkey and well..nevermind. but the cons...omg so many...lets start at the beginning. matching the party date with all your friends schedules. difficult if not impossible. someone is always left out. so for the ones who CAN make it, you have to get them there. food..well, thats not an issue to make it but you have to think of food allergies..what your guests might like..so you make a variety...thats more food...which means more money and possibly more waste...but ya gotta have food....drinks..soda is cheap..but what kind? diet? fruity? colas? booze...same thing..wine? spirits? beer? if you have just beer some people might think...hmmm white trash...if you have wine..they may think yer snooty..if you have booze they might think yer tryin to get them drunk...haha we had a couple ask us "do you guys need booze to swing?" i was like bwahahahaha nooooo I'm not THAT guy...and Jenn isnt either...we just like the flavors and getting piss drunk i have found is a bad idea. Location..we can host. we could fit 5-6 couples comfortably here...if i dragged the futon in the living room. some people dont have room and 924802394802934 people show up then what? you call ghostbusters? no..you start stacking people i guess. i would say hire a bouncer (im currently avail.) uh...so your guests arrive..lets talk about the guests...assuming you are smart...you have met these people ahead of time and not just a cold meet...cuz uh...your shit might come up missing...your medicine cabinet might get raided and you might wanna hide the pets. the party is raging...music up loud cuz some douchebag keeps turning it up and you turn it down...he turns it up...you turn it down....then you rip off the nob of the stereo and the guy...but by then the neighbors, who can't hear their nick at nite, have called in the swat team, airforce...national guard and shriners to invade swingland and assassinate the president. then you show up to the door to talk to officer vanilla with a leash around your neck and leather chaps with people in the background yelling "OMG THATS A FRIENDLY DONKEY" and the gestapo gives ya a ticket and then insists on staying "to keep the peace" and "pet the donkey"

I DO NOT NEGOTIATE WITH DRUNK PEOPLE. i had a friend who bought my beautiful 2000 gallant that i had tuned up and twin turbo and all that...we were at a party..he was drunk..i was dd...my house was a couple blocks away and he lived in hooper, i told him to sleep it off at my house...he said he was ok to drive....so i didnt want to have to tie him up...well, no..thats a lie..he was cute, but i digress...HE WRECKED. you can imagine how i feel about drunk driving now. i was responsible to a degree....i should have dragged his drunk ass in the house. but i didnt..and that gorgeous car was totalled.. never again. there is always room in our house to pass out and chill til you sober up. CLEAN UP: we have sex toys...we keep them washed sanitized and stored in a special drawer. we usually gather them all back up..throw them in the bathroom sink and wash them by hand, but they are all dishwasher safe as well. except the obvious ones like bullets. we generally serve on paper plates...so would you if you had to wash dishes by hand...so to me, thats not any less classy than serving of our fine china...its just more practical.
Jenn and I are cool with cleaning up..although any help will not be rejected.
We like to have fun...we like having people over...we like friends. clubs...house parties...equally have pros and cons..
To bring this back on subject..yeah, we are sick of clubs....no we wont stop going to them...yes we like house parties...but we hate them equally. so many factors for and against..its hard to decide which is the lesser evil. although i will say...going to house parties is easy but hosting can be tricky. going to clubs is easy..but having fun there can be tricky...

House Parties: where to begin. from reading through this thread i have surmised that y'all like the house parties over clubs. i tend to agree on a few of the pros and also the cons. you have freedom...you spend very little money..you have intimacy...you have control over how many people show up, who shows up...when they show up..what is brought by your guests if its byob or foodstuffs. you can have themes like togas...a halloween..a christmas...an easter haha (ill totally dress up like the easter bunny if thats what yer into) and you basically have control over what takes place...throwin down tarps and butterscotch pudding or you bring in the donkey and well..nevermind. but the cons...omg so many...lets start at the beginning. matching the party date with all your friends schedules. difficult if not impossible. someone is always left out. so for the ones who CAN make it, you have to get them there. food..well, thats not an issue to make it but you have to think of food allergies..what your guests might like..so you make a variety...thats more food...which means more money and possibly more waste...but ya gotta have food....drinks..soda is cheap..but what kind? diet? fruity? colas? booze...same thing..wine? spirits? beer? if you have just beer some people might think...hmmm white trash...if you have wine..they may think yer snooty..if you have booze they might think yer tryin to get them drunk...haha we had a couple ask us "do you guys need booze to swing?" i was like bwahahahaha nooooo I'm not THAT guy...and Jenn isnt either...we just like the flavors and getting piss drunk i have found is a bad idea. Location..we can host. we could fit 5-6 couples comfortably here...if i dragged the futon in the living room. some people dont have room and 924802394802934 people show up then what? you call ghostbusters? no..you start stacking people i guess. i would say hire a bouncer (im currently avail.) uh...so your guests arrive..lets talk about the guests...assuming you are smart...you have met these people ahead of time and not just a cold meet...cuz uh...your shit might come up missing...your medicine cabinet might get raided and you might wanna hide the pets. the party is raging...music up loud cuz some douchebag keeps turning it up and you turn it down...he turns it up...you turn it down....then you rip off the nob of the stereo and the guy...but by then the neighbors, who can't hear their nick at nite, have called in the swat team, airforce...national guard and shriners to invade swingland and assassinate the president. then you show up to the door to talk to officer vanilla with a leash around your neck and leather chaps with people in the background yelling "OMG THATS A FRIENDLY DONKEY" and the gestapo gives ya a ticket and then insists on staying "to keep the peace" and "pet the donkey"
then the sexy starts..or does it? what kind of party is this again? oh..there are some people here dressed like romans...mongolians...a guy dressed like mike myers...with a butcher knife...who invited him? i didnt..did you? uhhhh...
so yer all gettin it on...did you buy enough lube? condoms? is there enough paddles to go around...do you jump in...or reload the appetizer tray? do you suck someone off, or bring them another soda? the hosts have to make sure their guests are entertained right? i am the type that thinks...the chef eats last...so i would just have to watch from the kitchen. jenn is the same way. we would join in...but we would feel the need to make sure the party runs smooth.
ok....so everyone is spent..the walls are coated...the donkey is covered in sweat and the couch..well....its going to the curb in the morning. some people are tipsy...THEY DO NOT DRIVE HOME UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE. I WILL NOT LET ANYONE LEAVE WHO HAS BEEN DRINKING REGARDLESS OF AMOUNT AND TIMEFRAME. I DO NOT NEGOTIATE WITH DRUNK PEOPLE. i had a friend who bought my beautiful 2000 gallant that i had tuned up and twin turbo and all that...we were at a party..he was drunk..i was dd...my house was a couple blocks away and he lived in hooper, i told him to sleep it off at my house...he said he was ok to drive....so i didnt want to have to tie him up...well, no..thats a lie..he was cute, but i digress...HE WRECKED. you can imagine how i feel about drunk driving now. i was responsible to a degree....i should have dragged his drunk ass in the house. but i didnt..and that gorgeous car was totalled.. never again. there is always room in our house to pass out and chill til you sober up. I was going to give my input but after reading Brandons responce My head hurts! And im not sure I care anymore.
I personally love house parties and have had a great time at them. Not a big fan of the club scene only because Utah clubs just aren't that fun - no matter how you "frame" it. We love Habits, but that being said it has its ups and downs as well. I think house parties are hard only for the fact it depends on who you know and who wants to share the information. But again, we have already said a million times and a million different ways that this lifestyle is selective. So who knows it is win-lose situation and a reason this post has evolved from 2008 to 2010, not likely it will change.
Screw it. I wanna go to Brandon and Jenn's house.

Put us down for really liking house parties!
We host private "soak and poke" home parties once a month or so. Generally about 15 couples attend and we have an absolute blast. BYOB and a snack, women like to wear lingerie, soak in the hot tub with friends, have a little private or group fun, or just have a relaxed evening talking and laughing. If your in Eastern Idaho or Northern Utah and would like an invite, let us know.
Wow Brandon that made my head hurt. But thanks for the book lol. If you when to habits yes they do have a dress code yes it sucks but sometime you just got to put on your big girl undies and dress the way they want you it to keep trouble out. House parties are fun need to be more of them.
