It amazes me how some threads will fall off of the front page due to a lack of people posting only to have it miraculously get bumped to the top of the list without any new posts, and time stamped with an earlier time and or date than the present.
After looking into it, it appears that when you attempt to edit one of your posts in a thread it bumps the thread to the top on the main page. (Even if you didn't make any changes) I discovered there is a way to tell who is thread bumping is such fashion. On the front page the profile picture of the last post will appear next to the thread, however if you go into the forums section, and locate the thread the profile picture of the person who bumped it will be displayed.
My question is this:
If a thread fell off the front page due to a lack of posts, why bump it back to the top of the list without adding a new post, and thus adding more content to be discussed or commented on that would possibly keep it on the front page without the need to thread bump a thread that no one is posting in?

If you started the thread, you can then delete it. You just go to your first post and hit the delete button. *poof* The whole thread is gone.
