It may take you some time to get used to but the new photo album still has the same functions as the old album where you can stop the slideshow, mute the music, and scroll through the thumbnails and select individual images. You have complete control over it. You can also view all photos with a click of a button.
As well, this is just a preview of what is coming. There will be more features available with the photo albums including custom albums, custom or no music per album, etc...

From here on out, all images will be converted to non-progressive jpegs.. If you have anything other than that in your album right now, it will eventually be converted. In the meantime, it will either not show up or you can delete them and reupload them and they will show up.
Rob if you are wise you will listen to the opinions here or you may be a looser in the long run. It sounds like most of us who have commented don't find the new system as easy and user friendly as the old was. I guess this is just another change we will be forced to live with or do with out.
You can't please everyone and right now, we have more positive comments (sent privately) then we do negative. This is it. Some people just aren't used to change but will eventually come to like the new system. We definitely love to hear your opinions but the decision has been made. Again, what you see is only a preview. More options to come.

in my opinion it looks/works just fine. most people just dont like change or dont want to learn new things. for months alot of people have been bitching about how this site is not being serviced. well now it is and you are still not happy. what does it take to please ? the old saying goes " some people would bitch if they were hung with a new rope " kinda seems to apply here dont you think ? everything thats being compained about can be personalized by he user. just give a chance, either way you lose nothing
Like the new slide show feature. Don't get music with mine tho, even though volume is turned up. Would like to listen to the trashy music - so I had an audio opinion to share.
We vote to thumbs up for the new picture viewer. Loved the music, made me want to get out the old Roland Key board, and play along. Easy to use and easy worked well.

I am one that does not like it so far. I know it needs work and I am sure it will get better? The problem I have is the time it takes to load and get started. Maybe load the old veiw and then option for slide show? I know can't please all and only offering my 2cents!

I don't understand what all the hoopla is over the new picture viewing format, I think it's a rather nice change and a good upgrade over the obsolete old version. It's just a basic flash-based presentation; clean, simple and straightforward.
If you are finding it difficult to navigate, you really should get online more often as these types of formats have become the prevelant method for viewing pictures online.
So, if you don't like it...it would behoove you to get used to it as the future is NOW, and Swingular is certainly not the only site that utilizes this format, and it will be a daily part of your internet experience.
I realize there are alot of Chicken Littles out there whose sky seems to always be in a state of crashing...but hey, you asked for change and you got it!

it would be nice if there was a new instant messenger. Something that shows everyone who is logged into IM. Kind of like chat setup, but where you can see who's online and pick who you want to talk to. Not just a group conversation. We have instant messenger on our profile, but it rarely works right, and we can only talk to people who are on our friends list. We would like to meet new people in a little more private conversation forum. Just our two cents.

Having just returned from an overseas trip, I have found all the new features very nice. The new picture format is something else. It seems much easier to use and gives better quality. Looking forward to catching up on all the happening around here in the next few days.
The only way I can get any picture to show up is if I click on the profile picture. If I click on view public or private pics I get a blank screen. Any ideas or suggestions?

I wasn't aware the picture viewer wasn't working for EVERYBODY, as it works for me AND Siren.
Hmmm...maybe it's not working for MOST then?
Of course, there's always the possibility that the machine that's being used has out-dated Flash versions, etc, or the browser won't stream it, or hell..maybe just user error.
SEXI, make sure you've got the current versions of all your software running, or try a different browser, maybe that'll help.

Fine, could you please list thr requirements for the new picture viewer. I'm running XP with all updates, newest flash version, and using IE, which is still THE most used browser.
we are having the exact same problem, and also when we click on view all pictures we usually but not always get a blank screen
It works fine with firefox, if you want to download, install, and use a 3rd party viewer. But I guess you do what you have to do.

Even though we would like to, WE CANNOT READ EVERY POST OR REPLY THAT IS POSTED. The fastest way to get a problem resolved is to call the 800 number listed above. If you cannot get a hold of us that way, contact us through Yahoo IM using the handle Swingular. If that isn't available, then send an email to the administrator account. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
Posting for help in the forums may get you help from others though but I recommend starting a new thread for that so members can see you need help. There are quite a few knowledgeable members on the site and/or someone may have experienced what you are experiencing and may know of a 'quick fix.'

we just think it sucks we cant add a caption to photos.....so now we need to modify photos and get rid on ones that are 1/2 and a friend..... so ppl dont think im handsome, skinny, hung like a horse..lol..... as some photos are that the caption says sara and friend...

AHA !! the CTRL-F5 trick works !! thanks !!
Just hit "F5" (no need to hit the "CTRL" button along with it) when the blank white screen comes up and the cache will refresh and it will come right up. This works on either the public and or private album. Note that it is a flash based program and if someone has ANYTHING but a JPG file (animated or video) it will not show up other then a black blank space between pics, yet will show as a pic in cue. Just forward though it.
