The owner of this site actually lives here in Utah, which is why most of the marketing efforts are focused here.
I assure you their are as many equally minded individuals in any given state as their are in Utah.
As for the lifestyle. I wouldn't really call us seasoned pro's but I can offer some advice that we have gotten that has been of great help!
- Meet and Greets are best at a public forum such as a club/bar (this way everyone is no neutral turf and nobody is put into a situation that is too uncomfortable for them, that they can't leave.
- Set your standards early. Talk with each other and agree on what you are looking with your fantasies and don't settle. The worst thing you can do is settle on an experience just for the sake of the experience. It will wind up not being everything you hoped for and you'll just wonder why you got into this in the first place.
- We don't consider this a "lifestyle". We are seeking out our sexual fantasies and making them reality. We aren't changing any bit of our daily lives for it, and certainly don't bring our family into it.
- Limit the house parties you attend to people you have gotten to know pretty well first. You can never know someone too well, however it helps limit the shock and awe you may find lurking behind their front doors lol.
- People on the whole are pretty respectful. If you set your boundaries they will respect them. However you need to make sure you are comfy with your boundaries first. It only adds drama when the boundaries are set and adhered to, yet someone still gets all butt hurt lol. So make sure you know what you want.
- And most of all, don't look for the sexual aspects. They will happen if you want them to. Go into this with an open mind, and the desire to make great friends with like minded people.
I dunno... like I said we aren't seasoned pro's or anything. However we have had quite a few experiences most good some bad.
I hope this helps.

For such a conservative state Utah is fun. The night life in Phoenix and Las Vegas is totally hot. Maybe someday the clubs in Utah will open up more. It is getting much better around here though.
My advice to you would be to be VERY, VERY honest with your partner. Explain in detail your likes and dislikes. The easier you make it for people to know what you want the better off your experience will be. If it ever becomes too much, take a break. Happens to everyone. You will hate yourself and everyone around you if you take one for the team. Don't do it. Ask questions, ask more questions, and even more questions until you are totally comfortable with the situation you are about to enter. Have fun and don't take things to seriously.

Talk to your partner and establish some ground rules. That way nobody has to get upset when you do something or she does something. You can change the rules as you go along to suit both of you if say you find that it isn't working out for you. DO NOT change them on the fly.
As to swinging itself, Try it 2 or 3 times, full tilt. Why? You won't know how cold the water is by standing on the river banks. Jump in. Say you don't like it after a few times, you can quit without losing anything. first couple of times gets you over the shock. After that, you can see if you like it or not.
