I'd like to add that one of the biggest reasons Marijuana is considered a "gateway drug" is because it really isn't as bad as the propagandists make it out to be. When a child experiments with weed after being told how horrible it is, they are then less likely to believe that really harmful substances are actually as harmful as they are. We need to give our kids a proper education. We need to cut the churches out of the loop as well. <u>Some</u> of those morons have the facts so far out of wack that it's hopeless for some to even be reprogrammed. There is a christian church in California that actually doles out weed during their sunday congregation. If there were a god (which I doubt), but if there were... This is how I'd imagine him. LOL!

OK....out of the closet i come....but since very few of my neighbors or colleagues are members here........I am almost 50 years old.....birthday is july 2nd.......i have been smoking pot since my 13th birthday.....remember it like it was yesterday.....my neighbors older sister took me out back and got me high for my first time......and yes i can say i have been smoking pot ever since.....i never "graduated" to harder drugs....tho yes some of my friends did.....most of the group of kids i grew up with have been VERY SUCCESFULL.......one was a olympic volleyball team member......one is the head coach of a NFL team......i myself have been a firefighter/emt for over 8 years, and president of my local house for over 3 years.......I dont crave candy all the time......i have better things to do than sit on my couch and eat potato chips.....and i really dont want to hear about how all pot smokers are always wasted and never have the drive or will to strive for anything.......THATS BULLSHIT........and being a EMT........i would definatly much rather have a brother watching my back that just got high, than recovering from a bottle of Jack......response times and judgment are much different...we have proven that at the house.......so please......DO NOT GROUP US ALL AS LOSERS......some of us have very productive lives.....but we choose to smoke pot to releive the crap most people spew out of their mouths and how it makes life miserable for the rest of us......OK.......Back to the closet.....see ya all.......

All drugs are enforced by the government. The honest answer on why most drugs are prohibited is quite simple: We aren't the top producers. Honest and simple. By allowing marijuana (and others) to be leagal we turn a third world country i.e. Mexico or Cuba into a super power. We as the almighty enforcer, cannot and will not allow this to happen. Hence the reason, that most countries in the U.N., which we DO solely control, enforce the same laws of prohibition. We must be the almighty. Sucks but honest and coming from the most reliable source known. Or own government. Hope it answers things, and who you choose as your electorals.

You are comparing a drug that can kill you in one dose, make you highly physically dependant, cause you to have a psychosis, destroys your health rapidly, causes long term health problems, makes you highly agressive and violent toward others and on an on... to a drug that does none of that. It's scientifically proven, I'm not just "thinking that", as you put it. 3) That many keep spreading the disinformation, often unintentionally adding their own misinformation, because of their own misconception, perpetuating the lie.

They do alter your natural state. Your natural state doesn't include acetaminophen, Ibuprophen, asprin or naproxen. The cheesecake <u>does</u> alter your brain Chemistry. When you eat something you enjoy, like Sex and like Ecstacy, your brain releases serotonin and other pleasure causing chemicals that cause joy, happiness etc. ;-)

Mark just made a good point after reading these drug threads. We both agree that we think drugs should be illegalized. How we see it is that just like non-drugusers don't wanna be forced to take drugs, we don't think drug-users should be forced NOT to take drugs. If you're an adult, you should be able to make your own choices (as long as they're not harming other people...wanna harm yourself? that's your choice) and then you can deal with the consequences of those choices whether good or bad.

I do not agree all drugs should be legalized.....but i do think reefer is one that, along with alchol, is a personal choice and one lives with the consequences of that choice (DUI's aint cheap these days)

as a emt.....responding to many medical calls here near my home.....i see many more calls for alchol, and perscriton drugs, than people freaking on pot.......tho we did transport a guy who after taking a hit, caughed and when his head jerked forward it hit the top of his glass bong and split his forehead open......oh to the choices we make.....
