this is a topic just wishing everyone a safe and great chriatmas and hope u all enjoy and have all the funn
Thanks and the same to you both and everyone else. We are taking this Christmas to appreciate everything we have in life and make sure those we care for know it.
A friend of my wife just lost her husband to a long fight with cancer. She is left with a toddler and a 12 year old. We are doing everything we can for them to ease the pain. There is never a good time to lose a loved one but at the holidays is really the pits. If anyone sees Santa please ask him to work his magic and give this family the strength to get thru this for Christmas.

Happy Holidays. Since Christmas is actually a pagan holiday, I wish you well and ask that you limit your animal sacrifices to the pig and or turkey that you will consume during the festivities. Seriously though, be safe. I already totalled my car sliding on ice this year LOL!

To top it off, I got a ticket for going to fast for the conditions. I was going between 35-45 on the freeway. Have I ever said that I hate Utah? They'll find anyway they can to squeeze money out of the people here. Uh oh, I'm letting my inner Grinch out... Happy Fuckin holidays everyone. LOL!
Just wanted to clarify,
Christmas has been widely known to be a religious holiday and represents the birth of Jesus. Christianity and paganism are separate in both belief and celebration. Christmas is not a pagan holiday. Quite the contrary. Christmas celebration was created by the early Church in order to entice pagan Romans to convert to Christianity without losing their own winter celebrations. So Christmas was in fact a way to convert pagans to Christianity. Not a pagan holiday. Halloween on the other hand is a pagan holiday. Traditionally, the festival was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and slaughter livestock for winter stores. Quite different from Chirstmas.
TR, not trying to discredit what you are saying. Christmas has always been an upbeat, fun time of the year for our family, and the though that it is a pagan holiday really turns it negative. We enjoy Christmas, and the little one still believes in it. It's a beautiful winter, nice crisp air outside, stockings hung, fireplaces crackling, and the spirit is in the air. Let's all enjoy it! Merry Christmas....

Pre-Christian origins
Main article: List of winter festivals
A winter festival was traditionally the most popular festival of the year in many cultures. Reasons included less agricultural work needing to be done during the winter, as well as people expecting longer days and shorter nights after the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.[4] In part, the Christmas celebration was created by the early Church in order to entice pagan Romans to convert to Christianity without losing their own winter celebrations.[5][4] Certain prominent gods and goddesses of other religions in the region had their birthdays celebrated on December 25, including Ishtar, Sol Invictus and Mithras . Various traditions are considered to have been syncretised from winter festivals including the following:
Yule
Main article: Yule
Pagan Scandinavia celebrated a winter festival called Yule, held in the late December to early January period. Yule logs were lit to honor Thor, the god of thunder, with the belief that each spark from the fire represented a new pig or calf that would be born during the coming year. Feasting would continue until the log burned out, which could take as many as twelve days.[4] In pagan Germania (not to be confused with Germany), the equivalent holiday was the mid-winter night which was followed by 12 "wild nights", filled with eating, drinking and partying.[12] As Northern Europe was the last part to Christianize, its pagan celebrations had a major influence on Christmas. Scandinavians still call Christmas Jul. In English, the Germanic word Yule is synonymous with Christmas,[13] a usage first recorded in 900.

It was Pagan before it was Christian. This is where we get the YULE log. ;-) You were right about Rome. You just forgot to add that Rome was Pagan before the Christians brainwashed them. Christians turned the Pagan holiday into a Christian one. Now you owe me a beer. LOL! Paganism isn't a bad thing. I just threw that in as a fun fact.
