I am currently attending college, and I need some help. I am in a research class and the topic we have chosen to study is Mormon Disaffiliation. We will be conducting interviews with inactive or formers members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in order to find out the reasons people leave the church.
Now, in order to make this sample of people we interview as random as possible, we need to compile a rather large list of names (to then randomly select from). So, I am looking for inactive or disaffiliated members of the LDS Church that would like to share their processes in becoming so.
If you would be interested in the possibility (like i said it will be random so you may not be contacted) of sharing your story please send your contact information to my inbox. I will need the following information:
-name. at least first and a last initial if you dont feel comfortable giving out your last name--just so i can keep people straight. hahaha, ok i mean organized
-age
-zip code, for demographic purposes
-a way of contacting you. a phone number or a personal email please instead of going through the site email.
Finally, I need to add that the ONLY people seeing this information will be myself, my research group of two other people, and possibly my professor. All information reported by you in an interview will be completely anonymous once we get it from you. In other words, no identifying information will be attached to the research write ups etc.....and lastly, NO ONE other than me, will know where this list of names came from.

Sounds like a great topic to post on, LOL, not to mention do research on. There should be many willing to help here, we would on this end. Plus we have many other friends on here that would be willing to speak up too.......... Opps .......... forgot they are still active (in many ways) - LOL
sounds like a quack to me.. if he was serious he would have much better sucess in other media outlets. so im curious what he is really after.

I will be continuing it next semester in Advanced Survey Research to further my knowledge on the subject.

is actually after finding a large and diverse list of people to question about their reasonings and motivations (or lack thereof) for "falling away" from the LDS Church. I have always been very curious about this subject which was why I chose to investigate it for my Research Methods class.
