This is what I did for a few years myself. I was a driver for a time and a gunner. The most fun I had in the Army even though the M2/3 series BFV are fuckin maintenance heavy motherfuckers. The Cav/Infantry version that I was on M2A3 has the M242 Bushmaster (25MM dual-fed), The dual TOW II Missile launcher, the M240C (Coax) and 5 M231 firing port weapons. We carried a 3 man crew for the vehicle and a 6 dismount infantrymen in the back.

Miniguns are ok, but not very combat effective on the ground in an offensive deployment, hence the reason they are mounted on helicopters mostly. This is mostly for enemy supression in hot LZ's. They can be used in a defensive positions such as long term positions with no need of constant resupply of Ammo. On the ground, when attacking, you want a weapon that can be moved and oriented toward the enemy quickly, packs enough punch to get to the enemy, with as little ammo as possible. While they are cool to watch and fun to shoot, they are not very effective for what it costs to feed them. Oh and BTW, you can shoot that M134 all day and not do what that M242 can do. :-)
The M2 (Ma Deuce) .50 Cal on the other hand... That is a bad assed weapon and has been since 1921. I've thrown a lot of rounds down range with that bad boy.

Funny you mention the mini vs 240. Did you watch the other video on the Dillon site? Of course that is mounted on a helo as well, but still very impressive.
The mini's are becoming more widely used as an offensive ground weapon now. There are numerous hummer's mounted with them. Granted those are usually in the hands of Spec Ops guys and not regular ground pounders.
Either way both are excellant weapon systems and I have used both in my career. I just prefer the mini for the application that I am currently engaged in.

Yes, they are an excellent supression weapon. I have yet to see a minigun mounted on any of the hummers in the Army. None of the 19th SFG in our area has them. I know that the Delta Force guys use them on their a/mh-6 "little birds".

Lobby for it, if you are that passionate about having socialized medicine. There are plenty of healthcare options out there for people. Children are fully covered medically if they are low income. Everyone else should pay for it themselves. Everyone has the right to stabilizing care already. If you can't take care of your kids, don't have em. That's my view.

Everyone else should pay for it themselves. Everyone has the right to stabilizing care already. If you can't take care of your kids, don't have em. That's my view.

It's far easier to exact foreign missions for police action than to introduce a bill in a bipartisan house... theres many different ways to provide healthcare and there isn't a clear maority in the house to clarify which action. I would describe it as "Too many cooks in a kitchen "

Cost of R&D - Scientists and expiremental trials dont work for free

The first step you can do for healthcare cost is prevention and I garantee you if everyone was more concerned about doing preventive care than just fixing the problem when it rears it's ugly head, Healthcare wouldn't be such an issue.

HOOAH?.... My daughter is currently in Afghanistan right now she is 3rd generation Army Airborne with 1st of the 503/173rd.... We talk when ever the base is not on lock down and she tells us part of what's going on out there not all but enough for us to understand.... Hubby wishes he could re-enlist just to be out on that field again....HOOAH!
