Ever seen some names that made you wonder either where the name came from or what the parents were thinking when they named the kids.?
Take for instance the inventor of the Lear jet who named his daughters Shanda and Crystal.
(Crystal Lear and Shanda Lear).
At the risk of putting my life on the line.. let me share some of the family names from my wifes side.
First, my wifes maiden name was FAGG. Her mothers maiden name was BALLS. (Fagg to wed Balls was the wedding announcement). To add iinsult to injury, the uncles name was Harold, (or abreviated, Harry... Harry Balls).
I am sure several of you have similar names you could share...

Can't think of anyone off hand other than one race car driver: Dick Trickle. What was he thinking? My mother worked with a Peter Smalls. I work with a guy that has the last name of Crapo. Although he pronounces it cray-po, of course.. If I could be renamed I would have preferred:
Hugh G. Rection or
Hugh Jorgan or maybe
Dick Enya....
LOL

Once worke with a guy named Shorty Long. And then there was the girl I knew decades ago named Crystal Ball and her sister Anitta. Some parents I tell ya.
I have a few for you. An old girlfriend originally from Salt Lake City Crystal Bell. An old friend in Philadelphia Candy Kane and her sister was Sugar. Former employees back in Philadelphia told me about a friend of their named Anita and she maried Phil Morcocky so her married name was Anita Morcocky. And when we put our engagement notice in my local paper in Philadelphia the paper thought we were making a joke and refused to run the add till I threatened to pull my advertisements from their paper because they said my wifes maiden name of Estelle was not a last name.
I have some cousins whose last name is Hill (my mother's maiden name). Their names are Rocky Hill and Sunnybrook Hill...

I had a high school teacher named Richard balls and he went by dick. I met a guy while i was in the navy and his full name was Mellinium Falcon Starcruiser. I still couldnt believe that was his name.
OK...This is my forte...I work on the phone all day calling people...
In Kansas City, there is a stock broker (that is who I call) named Richard Fagg...When I called, the name did not click in my mind, I call an average of 200 people per day, and rarely ask for someone by their last name, when he got on the phone, "DIck Fagg, how can I help you?" I almost shit myself...I could not speak to him, so I hung up and called back a little later...
Why on earth would someone CHOOSE to be called dick with a last name like that? I imagine him to be either REALLY BIG, so no one would pick on him, OR he has one of those noses that touches his forehead and he is REALLY tough...

I (Mr. FunDo4You) went to school in So. Cal with the son or Mr. and Mrs. Moss, they appropriately named him, Pete.
The thing I hated was when they called your last name first followed by your first name in school with roll call. Those that know me personally will get a laugh out of that one.

I went to jr. high with a girl named Anita Cherry. True story.
In HS I knew a girl named Chastity, though she wisely went by Chas since she clearly had no interest in exemplifying her name. Not a last name or maiden name but it was always worth a good chuckle.

Years later this family changed their last name to Pheonix...........River Pheonix.......Joaquin Pheonix.......look them up, they were discovered in hernando county florida at the county fair.......i never knew this until my brother and i were talking a few years ago and he told me who that family became.
