:* I think I need too venture into a new dimension. I want to have hot wax dripped all over my body. Anyone know what product I should try first and where to get it?
Sorry, never had this done. I think it is because I am a little hairy.
I don't guarantee this but I've been told the cheaper the candle the better it is for this activity. Something to do with the amount of beeswax in the candle. I've tried it a little and the best way is start with a candle held VERY far away (above) you and see if that is okay. If it is, start lowering the candle closer and closer. Have fun! LOL
Adult stores sell candles for this reason but I would have to agree with FUN50SCPLE.We tryed this and had a lot of fun. That is how we did it.

One of our friends into BDSM said it is best to use plain paraffin candles, such as plumbers' or emergency candles from the hardware or sporting goods sections of your local department store. He warned against using any wax with color or beeswax, as they burn hotter :v Start high so the wax cools before hitting the skin, adjusting the distance to taste. Good luck, we haven't tried it ourselves, just passing the information along.
I can speak from experience here. Non colored wax is good because some waxes can stain if spilled or splashed on the sheets. Some candles burn hotter than others, why I don't know. I only know from trial and error. It can be quite an experience and fun. But start with the wax very high and work your way down closer to what is comfortable to you. If you use wax in a glass candle holder then you can blow out the flame and just use the wax. Less chance of an accidental fire. Holding a candle and letting it drip seemed hotter and you have to have the flame burning to continue melting wax.
Just experiment and have fun.

OK here's my two cents ... I know it sounds funny ... but if you get the Nair Hot Sugar wax kit (avialble at any Wal-Mart) You can use that to play ... not quite as hot as a burning candle .. also made for use on the skin ... If you get the sugaring wax it comes off with hot water, you don't have to actually yank anything
Worked the first time we played with it !!!!

The advice posted here on hot wax has been very good but here is the cumulation of our experience.
For waxing you should use cheap plain white candles. Better more expensive candles are made with beeswax which burns slower because it has a higher melting point. Do not use colored candles for the same reason. The dyes require more heat and burn hot.
Protect the skin with a good massage oil. This will also help the sensation to spread over larger area and with getting the wax off when you are finished. Putting the oil on can be fun too.
Choose your play area well with lots of room including vertical. You don't need to set anything on fire while holding the candle high over the lovely naked body of your victim. Tables work great. Remember you will need at least three or so feet of vertical to control the heat of the wax. A little bondage works great here! And if you do not add a blindfold you are missing a great way to add some excitement. Just remember you will want to be able to turn them over.
Also protect the play area with an old sheet or blanket. You are going to get wax everywhere.
Once you start hold the candle high and check the temperature by dripping it on your wrist or forearm and then once you have the right height to create the proper sensation -- go to town. You can then lower or raise the candle a little bit to mix it up. But be careful. If you get it too low it will burn the skin.
Avoid the eyes and use good sense but everything else is pretty much fair game.
You can slowly rotate the candle to create a steady slow drip. If you invert the candle you will get a faster, slightly hotter drip and you can also accumulate the wax in the bowl of the candle then dump it all at once. Test the temperatures on yourself before you try anything new.
I also keep a bowl of ice nearby. Mixing in the shock of the ice adds a little something.
Good Luck and free demonstrations are available!

Here is our 2 cents. As odd as this sounds, religious candle work great, they're cheap, and as they come in a glass container, you can use a crockpot to heat the wax, in the glass containers of course. We always start with the lightest (usually white) color first, and then add different color layers...after it hardens up a bit, just peel off what you can, and put it back in the glass containers, also, don't forget to put down plastic or something else to keep it off the floor. Hope that was helpful.

The crock pot idea is definitelyone of the better ones. Easy to handle, a good and always ready supple, and no flames! But adding the bowl of ice is pure geneous. Done correctly, there will be times when the waxee would have a hard time determining what was hot and what was ice! It's amazing.
