We are new to this lifestyle and have tried to attend a couple of house parties. Unfortunately the neighborhoods have had a strong police presence and a lot of nosey neighbors. We would like to attend but it doesn't seem worth it with so much resistance. We really like the idea of parties that aren't in residential areas.
Are we crazy for feeling this way?? Just looking for some input from those who have been involved longer than us.
Thanks in advance for your input.

We've never had an issue with any of our neighbors or local law enforcement at any of our monthly parties....however we can't speak for others.

I guess I am confused by this..
Since when was swinging illegal..?
Wouldn't it be the hosts problem if the neighbors were nosy..? They should know their neighborhood and take the appropriate steps. Our neighbors all know, the reason they were nosy is because they wanted to come over, They were just swingers in denial.
We are currently moving and looking forward to breaking in some new neighbors..

Swinging is not illegal, however prostitution is. That would be the only reason for police presence. House parties are just that, house parties. As long as everything is indoors where the public cannot see what is going on, local law enforcement should not interfere.
So on that note, Happy Swinging!!!

If you are speaking of the same party I have attended where police have been called, it is due to the neighbors being very strong in their faith and not wanting any of that nasty, deviant behavior in their neighborhood.
They called the police stating that things were too loud. The police respond, find no noise and move on. However after numerous callouts they have told the neighbors that if they continue to call for frivolous reasons they would be cited.
The parties as of late have had no visitors in uniform.

Well let me say that we have been to some parties in SLC where the hood was cool.lol and some where ol WOO DOGG has had to go chat whit the LDS and have come to conclusion that all they really want is to be assured that all is good in the hood,so to speak. hell when you can go down the street and watch HAPPY FEET with the LDS and they offer ou popcorn and soda water they cant be all bad.even though they might want to (WINK)so my brothers and sisters of the lets get naked and jump in a pile next time they get nosey, just be nice and say hello.you might get some pop corn lol
We've had uniformed police officers walk through our house during a party. They enjoyed the view and told us to carry on. It's really nice when those that wear the uniform are also in the lifestyle ;-)
We had experience with parties with neighbors that are unbelievable... It kinda takes away the feeling of "freedom" and replaces it with a "KKK" disturbance.
After that, I figure a couple ways that could have prevented this problem ---
Parking - Thats the first tip off of a party... If there's a parking lot "rented" for the night and a shuttle, that would help. This one is a mixed feeling - some would want to leave when they want to, no waiting for that shuttle
Discretion Keep all the obvious stuff out of view of the front door - playin that hot game where it seems like everyone ends up naked and then there's a knock on the door, and the neighbor gets surprised right when the host answers.
Giving heads up let the neighboirs know theres a PRIVATE party for "out of state friends" coming up, nothin to to worry about, it should cut the nosiness factor down. heck, call it a class reunion or something... a party where the nieghbor can't invite themselves over.
How often? Don't do it frequently, like every week... it's bound to get on their nerves.
Cops When the police comes, DO NOT PANIC. This is experience of a hundred parties here... panicking is bad. You do not have to invite them in, you don't have to be hostile, you dont have to worry. Chances are they're just checking up on the noise or if it's a high school kegger or a drug den.
Just step outside and address their concerns.
For the partygoers-
Why in the hell do you have to leave when the cops come? It's not as if they're looking - just - for - you! If anything, it's more safe in the house! once you leave, they can check for public drunkedness, DUI or anything that can do with the general public behavior. Just stay, relax and dont let your night be ruined because of somebody with a trigger finger on the speed dial.
Drugs Drugs = No-no. This will make the host liable. Even if they didn't know ANYTHING about it. I've seen hosts for afterparties go down just because there was drugs present. If that seems ridiculous, check out the RAVE act. It uses the crackhouse clause for that reason.
I have more but I dont want to make this list WAY too long. it's past there already.
PS: If there is spelling and grammar mistakes, I'm sorry. I had a long day
