<meta http-equiv="robots" content="noindex"><meta http-equiv="pragma" content="nocache">Life IS a System, and there is a way to go about changing your life, improving your life, systematically. This "way" is what some people have called... The Secret.
If I consider everything around me as pure energy (which is surely what everything is), I begin to sensitize myself to how all of the energies in my surrounding environment are interacting with each other -- and how they are interacting with ME.
I have discovered that it is possible to become acutely aware of, and attuned to, these energies, and to be able to feel them directly, immediately, and profoundly. I am finding these days that it is impossible for me to put on clothing of a certain color, or eat foods of a certain content, or hear music of a certain genre, without feeling the effect of that energy vibration almost immediately.
The "secret" of life is to know that All Is Energy, and then to monitor and regulate the intake of that energy, as well as focusing and directing the outflow of it from me to all the world. I find that what I take in, I flow out. In this sense, I am like a computer, responding to the rule that every computer analyst knows: GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out).
So I don't go to see certain kinds of films, I don't listen to certain types of music, I don't eat certain foods...I don't even say certain words -- or remain long in places and among people where they are spoken. I surround myself with energies that I agree with, and that amplify the energies that I wish to see proceeding from me.
I have also come to understand during my life that as I focus intentionally and intently on the most positive and affirming thoughts (which are, of course, also energies), I can change my life and improve my life in wonderful ways. The Universe responds to the energies I send into it. Like attracts like. My thoughts are like magnets, attracting to me whatever they hold.
I am sure that you have already seen the movie The Secret -- but on the off chance that you have not, I recommend here that you watch it immediately. It is just an amazing discussion and explanation of much of what I have just said above. Then, be sure to read the truly wonderful book The Law of Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks.
It is this law upon which the movie is based, and there is no better explanation of the operation of this law anywhere than in the books and work of Esther and Jerry, who have been among the most dynamic and effective voices sharing this exciting and empowering information during this turn-of-the-century period.
I can tell you that too much of the time I am walking around unconscious. I am largely unaware, or not paying much attention to, the energies that I am inviting into, and creating as part of, my personal space. Yet reading the writings of Esther and Jerry, and understanding through my own conversations with God more and more about the Great Secrets of Life, and being reminded again of these wonderful principles through the messages of such wonderful friends as Rev. Michael Beckwith and the other teachers in The Secret , I am re-centered and reoriented and I feel myself recreating myself anew in the next grandest version of the greatest vision ever I held about Who I Am.
And that, after all, is the purpose of Life! ~ NDW

I don't want to slam "The Secret".
I had a boss that gave me the DVD and I watched it/listened one day. My thoughts?
A rehash of much of what I already learned from "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and much of my own readings from philosophy and other great thinkers. However, if it helps you - Great! I just believe you can save yourself a lot of time and money by simply being positive, setting goals, visualizing them and going after them.
I've had to start over several times - after several major setbacks in life...and I've done it all before "The Secret" was ever published.
In short? You don't need this to be where you want in life. You don't even need God.
You just need you.
Be bold.
Know fear and know how to put it where it belongs, then start walking towards whatever mountains you see yourself climbing.
I am me.
You are you.
We all do what we need to succeed.
The paths may be different, but the destination is the same.
(Kinda describes religion too, doesn't it? There...I just solved the riddle for World Peace.)

" The paths may be different, but the destination is the same"............ COOL! We can't help but get there. Do it joyfully.
And you are correct, KINBAKU. "The Secret" is nuttin new. Knowing it is one thing. Doing it is something altogether more challenging.
I think Joy is the key.
To pretty damn much everything!

Do you know JOY? I heard she is awesome!
I'm not much for The Secret or LoA.
I have a hard time with the idea that those who have less or go through tragedies just didn't visualize enough to manifest good things in their lives. Or that those around them didn't either.
Life is just what it is. There's no magic formula to make it all peachy keen and wonderful. You do the best you can with the hand you are dealt, try to live with honesty and integrity and love with your heart wide open.

If we all "loved with our hearts wide open," all the other stuff falls into place. That's what we don't understand.

Very true.
It used to be very difficult for me to let people know how I felt about them. I kept a lot of feelings inside.
Then the unthinkable happened and we buried our daughter. One thing her death has taught us is that life is too damn short and second chances are rare. So we love more openly, more freely. We don't take anything or anyone for granted.
Sadly for us, it took something so tragic to get us to see what was right there all along.

I haved buried a daughter and a son (both 18 years old), so I feel ya.
I'm so very sorry... Our daughter was 16. Not a day goes by that she isn't in our thoughts.. You know how it is though..

I would like to add to this thread, not because I have seen the movie or read any of the books mentioned, but because I spent my 20's living unconsciously, and have a great many friends that do everyday.
When my Mother died in 1997 it changed me forever, suddenly I had to figure out how I really felt about the afterlife, and subsequently about life as well.
I have a sister-in-law who paid thousands of dollars to attend what she calls "training" and I call "happy classes!" (kind of like a self help seminar, but much more effective) to learn what I had in myself and just had to free it, the knowledge of my own existence. And the knowledge that I control my destiny, and I am responsible for me, myself, and I, nobody will stand on the judgement bar with me, or across from me either. I STAND ALONE.
I believe in Karma, not because I'm Buddhist, but because of all the words it goes by, Gods will, coincidence, the universe, etc. the word Karma is my favorite.
I believe that everyone gets, and is getting exactly what they deserve in this life, I hate complainers for this reason, if you didn't deserve it, good or bad, you would not have it in your life. That is karma to me. You get what you deserve.
I also believe that my energy can change, and does change according to my surroundings, and people, mood, etc. I believe I can sense peoples energy, and for that I am an excellent judge of character.
What does all this me to you? NADA! doesn't have to either, its how I live my life.

I like to think it's what we create instead of what we deserve. But I love your way of thinking.
I agree wet..
There some things that nobody deserves to experience. If you go by that belief, what does a child do to deserve being raped? Or anyone for that matter?
I think we can create positive things out of the negative things in life. But I don't belive you earn the horrid things that happen to you.
If you are an asshole to everyone and have no friends, that is a consequence of your behavior.
If you are an asshole and your child is murdered, that's not kharma. Kharma comes back at you, not at those who are near and dear to you.

Pet44,
I wasn't trying to be insensitive, the human language is limited by words, words are vast, and mean different things to each of us, Deserve means something differant than how you took it. Mr. GG for instance is telling you his interpretation of what he believes and has to use words, because you cant feel what he feels, and vice versa.
Now I'll get into Ying and Yang!! for every good thing there is a bad, if you never experience anything bad you could never experience anything good either. Everything happens to us for us to experience and learn from, even pain, even death. If something bad happens you can only pick yourself up and learn from it.
We all came here to die. We all knew it would be our last experience. For every beginning there must be an end. We all have an "expiration date."
This why I don't attend funerals anymore. Funerals are for the living, not for the dead. Everyone grieves differently, and everyone has a different way of coping. Mine is to know that no matter how you lost someone, you have to appreciate the time you did have with them, and celebrate that they are in such a better place, and they are always with you. In your memories.
I have to think of it as something wonderful that happened to her, If I looked at her death as something horrible that happened to me, then she loses her identity, if I celebrate the time I spent with her, and the things she taught me, she lives on, and then I teach it to my children, and they to theirs and so on. Hence the circle, The Ying Yang.
There's my ramblings, thanks for listening.

I'm not there and doubt I ever will be. My daughter's death was not something wonderful that happened to her. It was horrible, for her, for all of us that knew and love her.
She doesn't lose her identity because we mourn for her. Her identity lives on in the memories we cherish. One can grieve a loss and celebrate what was without getting lost in the pain. It just takes time to move on from the horror, shock and raw pain. In time it becomes softer around the edges, but still remains. It is a scar we carry till the day we die.
I teach my children that the energy that made my daughter the person she was, lives on. In all that is around us, in all that is in us.
Grieving, missing, mourning that unique and precious being is not bad. It's only a problem when you can no longer wrap yourself in the good memories like a favorite old blanket that brings you comfort.

The events of our lives are not what matter. What matters is our reaction to them.
I thought I wrote it earlier, but Thank You, PET
Folks the following is not religion, believe me, I don't believe in Religion:
Neale Talks About God Not Caring
I was in Tokyo this week talking about God.
Incredible, wonderful, marvelous discussion. Three hundred-plus in the audience. Not a one of them looked bored, or "out of it." Everybody was paying rapt attention. Many asked incisive, important questions.
At one point I was describing God in this way:
"God is not a Super Being in the Sky, with the same proclivities and emotional needs as human beings, including the need for love and for revenge when love is betrayed or not given. God is life's Essential Energy. You might want to call that energy Pure Intelligence.
"Intelligence doesn't care whether you believe in It or not. It doesn't care whether you use It on purpose or not. If you do use It on purpose, It doesn't care how. It makes no judgment about any this. In fact, It makes no judgment about anything at all.
"Pure Intelligence wants nothing, needs nothing, seeks nothing. It simply Is. It exists in a way that allows Itself to be used. It does this, it allows this, it makes this possible, by placing Itself inside of Everything. Wherever you look you will find Pure Intelligence. It is at the basis of all things that exist. Snowflakes reflect Pure Intelligence. The tiniest atoms reflect Pure Intelligence. The biggest swath of the night sky reflects Pure Intelligence. The process of life Itself, examined at every level, reflects Pure Intelligence.
"The energy that I am here calling Pure Intelligence can be used -- is being used -- at every level of life, by Life Itself. You are using this energy, you are focusing this energy, every second of every minute of every hour of every day...usually without knowing it.
"The fact that this energy exists, and the way to focus it, therefore using it to one's personal advantage, is what has been called The Secret. A movie by that very name was made last year and is now sweeping across the world. This energy that I am calling Pure Intelligence, and that I am telling you is another name for God, has no opinion about anything. That is because It doesn't need anything. It is singularly without need, for the simple reason that it is Everything That Exists in Any Form Whatsoever. This includes not only physical things, but metaphysical things as well. This includes all spiritual things, and anything in any form that simply IS...including thoughts, emotions, feelings, ideas, and, yes, the Black Holes of Space.
"Think about this. If God is truly Everything That Exists in Any Form Whatsoever, what in the world could God want or need or require? Why would God punish us for not giving God what we imagine that God wants or needs or requires? The answer to these questions is self-evident. It need not be discussed in great detail, because simple logic reveals it to us and makes it clear how we have been held captive by the mythologies of our own culture and its past.
"The opportunity that lies before us, and before all sentient beings, is to use the Essential Energy of Pure Intelligence in the way in which it was designed to be used. Not all things that exist in the universe can use this Essential Energy consciously. That is, with full self-awareness and with intention. Only those elements of Life Itself that are self-conscious -- that is, aware of themselves -- can do so.
"I should correct that last statement. Not even all elements of life that are self-conscious can use the Essential Energy consciously. It is not only a question of being conscious, it is also a question of the level of consciousness that a being or a species has attained. For instance, a dog, while highly intelligent, is not sufficiently self-aware (as far as we know) to be able to use Essential Energy with intention.
"Human beings are not only aware of themselves, they are aware that they are aware, and so have risen to at least the Second Level of Consciousness. This level of consciousness allows sentient beings to notice themselves, and even to notice themselves noticing themselves. That is, we can stand 'outside of ourselves' and watch ourselves doing what we are doing and thinking what we are thinking and saying what we are saying. We can even watch ourselves watching ourselves. We can step back into the hallway of awareness, looking through doorways both forward and backward -- and, according to some, ultimately seeing and experiencing our Divine and Sacred Self."
When I finished with my comments a man in the back of the room rose to ask what he said was a burning question: "When I first read Conversations with God I was very touched because it allowed me to believe in a God who loved me. Now I am confused. You have just described a God who doesn't care what I do or how my life turns out. I feel desolate after hearing this description from you. This is not what I came expecting to hear today. It is very little short of depressing. Can you help me?"
It was a marvelous question. A question from a man who was tracking every word and thinking about every nuance and implication. Others in the audience nodded their approval of the inquiry. I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, cleared my throat, and began to speak in a slow, steady voice, the words coming from somewhere beyond my conscious mind.
