Isn't it amazing that EVERY year just as it gets closer to summer and when the oil companies KNOW people will be traveling more, gas goes up. HMMMM.... think that might be a strange coincidence?
LOL
LOL
Just one illustrative example of a basic human characteristic; greed. Greed and the predatory nature of it to feed upon the fear most populations have of scarcity and lack.
Hopefully the so-called alternatives will be more readily available and economically/environmentally feasible in the near future.
Either way...we're always going to have to deal with a supplier and the capitalistic approach.
I don't think anyone would contend about having to pay for energy...I think we just all want it to be what we feel would be reasonable, eh?

And to think the price of crude is at a five year low an the gas prices still go up???
crude prices are at a five year low ????? what country do you live in. crude prices are about 65.00 a barrel. three years ago it was abut 30.00 a barrel. setting that aside, as much as i like free enterprise, it does feel like we get raped and quarterly profits are about 30 BILLION dollars for oil companies. all everyone needs to do is quit driving so much. or not bitch about it
spring break is coming up also
This is just the days price but the price of crude has been as low as 50 dollars a barrel in the last two weeks. The price per barrel when the gas price first went over three dollars was even less.......the two really have nothing to do with each other and there are still subsities going to the oil companies from the government. the consumption goes down and they raise the price. Something about free trade.

Lets face it...The company is in existance for one reason, and one reason only...NO...Not to provide a service...NO not to provide jobs...IT EXISTS TO MAKE A PROFIT...PERIOD!!!
As long as you want to drive your SUV, Pick-Up or Jeep, none of which will ever be used as designed, you will pay....Period...
Quit bitching....Get a hybrid...Go bio-diesel...Whatever....
Gas is what it is....Pay it or walk...

OK, from the top.. Do I think that the the gas companies are a bunch of money sucking VAMPIRES absolutely..
Do I think they are out to charge as much as they can get without the backlash from congress (which lets be honest, how many of those assholes are really on the take) ABSOLUTELY
But lets switch this around.. If you had a product the EVERYONE wants, and ABUSES would you want to get as much as you could?
Heres the problem folks, much the same as the local DEALER, selling his shit, WE as a whole have been ADDICTED to oil, GAS, and they know it and push the envelope to get as much as they can when they can..
I am just as guilty as the rest, had the big SUV, then the Go Fast truck.. brand new getting 8 miles to the gallon.. and driving with no where in particular to go..
When it hit 2.25 a gallon, it broke my heart, and my Harley truck went.. for a old POS s-10.. but heres the thing.. How many of us still run around in the shitty milage cars or trucks, and still fill up..
Last year when it was over $3 a gallon, CNN carried a story of a guy selling off his Grandfathers watch to be able to drive his Jaguar.. WTF?!?
So, as much as IT SUX.. let me ask this.. are we doing anything, and I mean really anything other than bitchin about it?
