Febuary is almost over. Hope some of you found that special person that likes to play with others as much as you. to let everyone know I am still unemployed and the bank repoed my 2001 ford ranger the first week of the month. All that really did was make it more difficult to find work. Still waiting to hear back from The PA National Guard Doctors to clear me for Boot camp. You see I ahd back sugery when I was 19. Anyway I still have tons of Applications out to tons of restaurants inthe area for Management. It doesn't look good though you see There is One guy that owns all the McD's and One guy that owns all the Wendies in the area. You see they won't pay cooks more than $7.00/hr around here. I do have to say, March looks like it will be interesting. The Weather is gonna get screwy. But remember What that ground Hog said.
Best of luck to you dude. You really need to get out of that one horse small town. Joining the military is an excellent way to get out and find something better. I turned 28 in Navy Boot camp myself after a bitter divorce and not making any money. Its all behind me now and has taken me places I could never have dreamed of. The Navy will take you until your 32. Im no longer in but would never have had what I have now without it. One thing I learned while in the Navy was you can do anything if you try hard enough. Go for it man!
Don't know if this would help either of you, but the economy here is really booming due to energy. The unemployement rate in WY right now is at about 3% ( last figure I heard). Alot of jobs in construction type jobs. The pay is alot better than $7.oo/hr. While it may not be what you want, it could keep you afloat til what you want is available. hey thanks everybody, I am still looking for work. And i always planned on moving up into management. I am good at the work. Most of the carpenters I know around here are potheads. Anyway I tired of being negative about this. I don't want to leave johnstown, but if the right opportunity came up I wouldn't think twice.

JSTJIM hey man to be honest I hated school for the two and a half years i was there. Working part time at a Chi-Chi's in my home town on the weekends. Where the GM asked me if i wanted to move up into management. 1 month later the placed shut down. LOL Anyway I tried the navy 6 years ago, maybe they thought i was on drugs looking for help or whatever. The recruiters did help much at all. besides that when they found out I had back sugery at 19 they said no way they can get me in. This was after I scored a 78 on the ASVAP. Still haven't heard back form the National guard guy. One more thing 5 years ago after the navy denied me, I moved to a town 45 minutes from where I lived. Why because my old GM from the Chi-Chi's asked me if i'ld come work for her again. I asked her If I did would she get me into managemnet. She said diffinatly but she wanted me in the kitchen cause. Half the staff was on drugs and two of the cooks and one waiter were selling weed there. They started me off at $8.50/hr. the only difference between greensburg the place i moved to and johnstown the place I lived in. Is that there aren't people like the guy's who own 7-8 wendy's or 5-6 McD's. Oh and I never actually worked for mcD's I interviewed fr a management positon once. And at the end of the interview the ownr of 5-6 McD's stood shook my hand told me He'ld love to have me as a manager. Then asked me if I wouldn't mind starting off on the grill for $6.50/ hr. I laughed at him told him i need more money and walked out. I know Some of you think I am some punk. And not really listening to you. but, I am And please realize that I am 30 years old. And believe me when i tell you I have and am looking under every rock. And my situation really sucks right now I'ld love to actually come to some of the parties you guys throw. Or I would diffinatly travel to meet some of you. With in a reasonable distance. Here is something funny, my brother sells weed. And when he parties him and his wife snort coke. They came home for the weekend because they had a stressful week looking for a new house. She is a lawyer hae is in a Union and drives a water delivery truck. The first thing he did when he got in said hi to my parents got money from our little brother and bought some weed.
I have e-mailed countless female porn sars that have thier own web site. Telling them I want to be on thier web site and do porn. I send them all my pics. And 90%of them don't even e-mail me back. These girls are kept incredibly busy. flying all over the world to do phtot shoots and movies. But, Alot of them start thier own web sites so that they can get some semblence of stteling down. SHEKKI do you really think thats all girl like? You may have got depressed reading this thread. But, that is my curent situation. But, things always do get better. Life is hard it can't always be peaches and cream. Not all of us are spoiled brats, and i really wouldn't want a girl if her main concern is money. I have to add this. It has been over two months since I sent my surgical information to the national guard Doctors. I am still waiting to hear back from the recruiter. I interviewed for a job at Galliker's Dairy. They are huge in this area most of MD. parts of WV. And they have farms and distribution centers in NC. The jobs they were hiring for were paying $10/hr to start. In thier bottling warehouse. After my interview with the Cooler manager he took me and introduced me to the Human reasources manager. That's two interviews in one day. For what ever reason they didn't call me to come in to work.

ok so i just got done reading this entire thred and all i have to say is not to be rude in anyway or hurt anyones feelings in anyway but if its that bad for you and all you want is a job then suck it up and take the first job you can get if its not money your worried about then stop worrying about it and get any job you can snatch and most fast food places wont hire you for management without making you do everything else that has to do with what your managing first other wise how can you manage it if you want to make that kind of money in management with no training in that spacific resturant then you need to move to a big town and work somewhere where they dont acctually care about their customers any place that gives a crap even a little about the people they are serving will make you take training other wise you cant help a customer when they have a need that can only be met by a manager hope i didnt step on any toes thats just my two cents from experiance

Unfortunitly the young man is from PA, it's a beautiful place to live there's alot to do there, and the culture is one where I grew up. BUT... alas the jobs SUCK they don't pay worth a damn. The cost of living there is so high I'm ashamed to have called it home at one time. I moved back there after leaving the Active Duty Air Force back in 1992. And I ended up working one full time job and two part time jobs and when I did have time off I helped my parents with their Florist business and still couldn't make endes meet. With a wife and three daughters, one a new born, I jumped aboard the first available thing that came along, and that's why we now live in Texas. I don't perticuilar care for Texas but my family and I are not starving. Pennslyvania is quickly becoming the next Massachusets, HIGH TAXES, MULITIPLE TAXES, (ie) did you know Pa has a "Right to work tax", just to name one. Anyway keep your chin up, and if you want to get in the military try the Army Guard. As for your back problem all you have to do is prove that you have no prolonged medical problems because of it and they should let you in. Best of Luck

Like I said, I am waiting to hear back from the local Nat. Gaurd Recruiter. Because He had to send my surgical papers to the main Nat. gaurd Doctors to get me approved for Boot camp and duty. Another thing Times are hard on everyone right now. Especially with the war going on and the fact that the Republicans know they are going to loose in the up coming elections. You guys Have a great St. Patrics Day. I will tell you guys that the Bunker Inn in my home town does an annual pic roast every March 17. There is live music from 12 noon till they kick your drunk ass out. Everyone is encouraged to bring covered dishes. $5.00 dollar cover.
Also i talked to an old highschool friend Sat. He 's in the Navy and was transfered to A small town around Lancing MI. To do recruiting. His wife Has 5 years exp. in Bank and a buisness degree in banking. And she hasn't found a thing yet. They've been there since Aug.

I believe that you can not have enough positive support to help you achieve the success you deserve through continued hard work. Although I am not in a position to offer you a job or a loan I hope that my post, as insignificant as it may appear, is truly heartfelt.
Continue to stay positive. Keep acting as if you were working. The people that stay on Unemployment or State Assistance are usually sitting at home feeling badly about themselves. Wake up in the morning and get your day started. Hit that pavement. The hardest part about work is finding it. That attitude will be noticed by recruiters far more than someone who is expecting to get a job without having to work at getting it. Spend that 8 hours a day without a job looking for a job. If there isn't one in your area you may have to change your area to accomodate your situation. Keep positive! Have hope that today is the day you find your job and if you don't that tomorrow you will. I can not promise it will happen when you want it, but, it will happen as long as you don't give up.

Continue to stay positive. Keep acting as if you were working. The people that stay on Unemployment or State Assistance are usually sitting at home feeling badly about themselves. Wake up in the morning and get your day started. Hit that pavement. The hardest part about work is finding it. That attitude will be noticed by recruiters far more than someone who is expecting to get a job without having to work at getting it. Spend that 8 hours a day without a job looking for a job. If there isn't one in your area you may have to change your area to accomodate your situation. Keep positive! Have hope that today is the day you find your job and if you don't that tomorrow you will. I can not promise it will happen when you want it, but, it will happen as long as you don't give up.
