I don't understand why when you load a picture on your profile, some show and some do not. I've tried loading them over and over but no luck. I see that others have the same problem.
BUT....Does every one know that if you see blank spaces when you go to look at some ones pictures, you can click on "View all photos" and you will get to see all of them?

My mind hurts trying to understand - can you rephrase?
okay- uh, I'm thinking you have a bad connection?

no not a bad connection it just happens sometimes we get that from time to time as well

It also depends on what format your image is. Most browsers only read jpeg, gif and PNG, the latter being less common than the first two. If you are using one of the first twol, like Jpeg and you are still having issues, perhaps you are having connection issues during the upload. It could be that the load was successful and youre just having and issue seeing the page as it is refreshed. Perhaps after you upload the pic...dump your cache or refresh the page. Those are strange symptoms indeed.

If you are using firefox uploads won't work. No problem with any version of IE
I've seen this problem before with PHP (the scripting language used for this site). FireFox isn't the problem since I use it exclusively and have never had a problem at all.
If you notice, sometimes large blocks of text don't fully load either. I would guess there's a glitch somewhere between the PHP settings and the Server software (Apache, Tomcat, etc.) and the data load.
I could also be WAAAY off. I just know that when I ran into this problem on some of my own sites, I tweaked until it was fixed and never seen again.

I too use Firefox and Linux for that matter and I have not had any problems with picture uploads.
I have also had no problem with Firefox - works great, however I have had problems with an upload or two but most of the time is was caused by the size of the file. Remember just taking a mega sized digital file in a graphics program and grabbing the corner of the picture and shrinking it to look smaller does not make the file size smaller - it just makes it a small picture with a big file size. Resize or resample command does the trick most of the time.
You still set image dithering with .gif images. You can also set a a .jpg to be Progressive, but not all older browsers will be able to read it.
Not the problem here.
Most likely just a case of "Try and Try again."
