I first heard of it from the movie "Raising Arizona.", I got the idea that people would be violent to the idea and when I asked daddy (I was 10), he just said that some people are diffrent in other ways and others get mean about it. He never really answered what "wife swapping is."
Then I pretty much grew up thinking about diffrent perspectives and understand it than to try to fix it with fists.
Somehow, I knew what it under some level - not really clicking until my sweets wanted to see the world, starting with a hot redhead

D & T...you are like our children, and my how fun it has been to watch you grow...hehehe. We still remember you before you were integrated into the "mainstream" lifestyle, and actually shunned usage of the name "swinger". Ahhh...nostalgia....

we had the same kind of realization.... once we figured out that 'swingers' were mostly just regular people with a spicy side hobby, we felt much more comfortable.

I Guess in the start of all this, or b4 we actually experienced anything in the lifestyle.....we may have had a preconception that it was all about sex, but have sensed realized that it is more for social gatherings of open minded friends. (not that sexual fun doesnt sometimes come of the open minded gathering......) We have a ton of fun at these gatherings, and now have some lifetime friends that we have a good time with no matter what we are doing. It isnt just about the sex like we first thought, and in the start we were kinda afraid that ppl who were more experienced would be pushy, or that our relationship would be disrespected, BUT that is SO far from how it actually is. There is a lot more respect given to a relationship at one of these gatherings then you can find at any other place on a saturday night, thats for sure! We would much rather hang out with swingers then anyone else....at any given time!!! Way fun people, respectful, and non judgemental.......a crowd that we perfer to hang out with!
Wow, great subject! My preconceptions of swingers were very similar to Big D's. Wild orgys, naked bodies everywhere....ohhhhh sounds pretty hot ....LOL

Seriously, we have met some of the greatest friends EVER. Friends that you can depend on when you need them.
Fun friends to hang out with who aren't shocked if you show a little skin, or a lot of skin. People who totally understand the double meaning to lots of subjects, friends who see you turn your head and watch the couple who just passed you on the street and know EXACTLY what was just going through your mind!

It's been a long time, but I'm not sure that I had any preconceived ideas. I'm poly and responsibile non-monogamy was nothing new to me. On the other side of this relationship B knew I was Poly and she didn't quite understand it but trusted me. She was "curious" that is to say if she saw FF play in a flic she got so gushing wet.. but because of her catholic upbringing, she couldn't be Bi....that's a sin.....??.... Well we went to a party and luckily a couple and staff members sat down and talked to her and she watched people and talked to others and found out they were not pervs. Nurses and medical personel are probably the largest group in swinging. Cops, (police for the people who don't like the other term) truck drivers, mechnics, architects, contractors, engineers etc... So a good cross section of the general populaion are represented.. When she found this out...she embrassed the lifestyle and she loves to dance and... let her libido run. She was no longer curious after a couple of parties.... So she can get nude do whatever she wishes and even have orgasms on the dance floor dancin with herself.... WOW... So her preconceived ideas was that swingers were pervs... Oh...and I guess we are... By the vanilla world.....Give em time... pretty soon maybe everyone will cum over to the lifestyle,,lol
Whoa! Preconceived ideas, great friends, non-stop orgies, open minded friends... We were told it was the only way to get good AmWay connections. LOL! ;-)

Mr: I got into this over a strip poker game and "Truth or Dare" with my first wife and some friends. There was little organization to the "community" as I knew it, so our encounters were ad-hoc and as we chose to take them.
My 2nd wife simply suggested it one day to "Have some more fun"...and fun we had! I will admit I got to live out most of my fantasies and took some lumps as well.
Overall, I enjoy the lifestyle. I've only had 1 "bad" experience and moved past that easily. The people, by and large, are great! What I enjoy is the simple fact that one can move at whatever pace is desired.
If you want to go insane and go asses-to-elbows? You can.
If you want to be mostly social and play occasionally, you can do that too.
