I have to laugh at the hysteria. I work taking phone orders for one of the companies who thought they were going to have some PS/3's to sell. At midnite last night I got 35 calls in a row "Got any PS/3's"? We had none because Sony couldn't produce them.
I suspect that, as with most mania's, most of the buyers don't really care about the game: they're just hoping to buy - and sell for a fat profit - quickly. The smart people will just dig out their old favorite games on their previous game systems and enjoy them again - until the hysteria dies down over a *game system* which costs more than a computer.
Or forget the game system entirely, find a like-minded couple, strip down and have some *real* fun.
But. Hey. Each to their own.

wow, 9000 that is insane!! What a profit, that family is going to have a good christmas..LOL! I went to walmart last night around 8pm in Payson and there was tents and ppl cooking on the sidewalks (cooking some dinner, I guess) they had lawn chairs and sleeping bags they were in it for the night, I suppose. There had to be like 25 ppl in line, but it said the Playstation 3 line was full....so does that mean that they only had 25 Playstation 3's to sell or the could only have 25 max ppl that could be camping out??? I say INSANE, but hey....I mean if a person can turn around and turn $600 into $9k then maybe they aren't so INSANE!!! ....I would say the person that bought it for $9k was insane..or just had waaay to much money on their hands. LOL

In our opinion, it's all about a holiday that is a made to make us miserable and corporations richer. No playstation 3 is worth $9000. If you wait until, let's say January, how many do you think you could buy for that price. Not to mention, the game library is shit during the launch period of the product.
All it takes is a Christmas boycott and they couldn't do that shit to the little guy. Most people in this country want it served up fast and with no effort. They are willing to pay lots for little, just for convenience. We are slowly being sucked into a lives of mindless drones by corporations that would sell you shit no matter the cost to you.
It's good that you got an early buy on the PS3. The question is... what good would it do to buy early, this already over-priced machine, if the library is so small that it's defeats the purpose of purchase? The great thing for you is, some fool will probably want their kid to be the first among their peers to boast the prize purchase, no matter the cost.

Wonder if history repeats itself? How many remember the XBOX 360 and the recall of all the systems shortly after the holidays were over? I think I will wait until the excitement dies, the games are reasonabley priced and the equipment is proven. Besides that... having raised teenagers my house is still filled with PS2, XBOX, NINTENDO 64 controllers, games, consoles, etc. etc. etc. Why add another money pit?
Sony has already released a statement stating "80% of the new PS3 systems will overheat or become defective within the first month of use." Aside from this with consols, operating systems, or any other first gen stuff you should probally hold off till a later version anyways.

Hey all i have to say is that for the price of one PS3 you can actually purchase a Wii and a core 360 system. All i know is that Sunday my wife and I are getting up early and making the small line for the Wii. You don't have a PS3 now you have to wait until Feb. Fuck Sony and their blu ray gaming system.
