Hi everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment and personally apologize for the rocky beta launch. Our goal was to get as many members trying out the new site as possible so we could gather real feedback quickly and speed up the final release. But in doing so, we jumped the gun and made the switch too soon — and we hear you loud and clear.

We know this has been a long time coming, and we’ve been working hard to meet everyone’s expectations without disrupting the current experience. That balance has been tricky. The current site has been around since 2006 and, while it’s had its fair share of updates, it’s still built on some very old tech. The new version is a complete rebuild from the ground up — not a template or a white-labeled dating app like a lot of startups use. This is a fully custom social and dating platform, and building something like this normally takes a large team over a year or more. We’re a much smaller crew trying to do it in less time, and while that’s exciting, it’s also come with its share of bumps.

We’ve made mistakes along the way — including this latest one — but please know that this project means the world to us. We’re deeply invested in creating something amazing for you, both now and for the future. Our team has experience building top-tier apps and websites for Fortune 100 brands — think airlines, restaurant chains, and household names (we just can’t name-drop due to NDAs). That said, we’re still a small, scrappy team working with legacy code and lots of history.

Most importantly, your privacy and security are always a top priority. We’ve built everything with that in mind from day one.

So here’s what we’re asking: stick with us. Try the beta (now back on its own domain) when you can, and help us test and shape it into something we can all be proud of. Share your feedback — what works, what doesn’t — and let’s make it better together. Constructive input helps us make it great. Negativity, on the other hand, only drives people away — and nobody wins when that happens.

Thanks again for being here, for your support, and for your patience. We truly appreciate you — without you, none of this exists.

We hear you. We’re working hard. And we’re not stopping.

It's sucks , keep this instead.
We're open to it, but things like Local Parties are a big part of the draw here, and eliminating, or making them impossible to find really didn't work. Glad you're trying to update, but keep those key features that work, and drive engagement.

Those features are still a part of the new site. They just haven't been released yet. That is why we kept the old site up so that members could still access missing features. Almost every feature you have today will be a part of the final release. Local parties is set to release this weekend in the beta site if you wish to test it.
I just want to give a shoutout to Eric in customer support. We could not logon for a few days after the upgrade and the reset password button was not functioning. I spoke with him for 40+ minutes yesterday while we worked through the issue and at least got the password reset. That did not resolve the issue with logging in. He was in communication with the developers the entire time to let them know. He offered to call me back when they fixed the issue. Without going into boring tech talk they found the problem with the token and our account, he called me back and we tested successfully. That's how CS should be and a far cry from another LS site we shall not name who has horrible CS.

Thank you Eric and Swingular CS
Holly shit!! There is an admin? Thought that this sight was finished. Even the forums are mostly dead.
Sorry for being so blunt and forward but we are hoping that just maybe you can pull it out of the dumps.
There have been multiple offers for help that have simply been ignored.
Best of luck with your re launch.

I believe we spoke the other day, we all appreciate the fact that you are trying to improve your site, But like most folks we are all creators of habit and we are all so use to the original format it like that old comfortable shoe.
I for one saw the new format and would prefer the original.

Thanks for the comment and I appreciate this point of view. Unfortunately, to keep us moving forward and to start attracting new and younger members, we have to adapt or we will get left behind. Our analytics and research are showing that our new member turnover is getting higher and higher and we can't sustain this business if we don't change.

What I recommend you do is give feedback to the new site and we can make adjustments as we go. Also, a lot of the consternation with the new site was because a lot of you weren't seeing the site for what it was as we were using bleeding-edge technology that wasn't compatible with browsers older than 1-2 years old. We have since removed this tech and the experience should be better. If you were seeing the new site as it was meant to be, then again, I urge you to provide feedback by using it and making recommendations.

Change is hard, I know, but it's necessary if we want to be around in the future.

You have every right to make this comment and question this and my apologies. But to be honest, we don't peruse the site and forums daily and never really have. We've always allowed free expression and try to keep the `big brother` out of this. We state in multiple places that if you need help, to call us. We believe in handling things directly. Emails, messages, forum posts about help are hard to manage, especially with a small staff like ours.

With the new site structure, we now have more tools in place where we can integrate local hosts and moderators better so we are actively looking for volunteers. This should help with eyes on the site and that help can reach out to us if things need escalating. If anyone is interested, please reach out to us.

And last, the focus of my team and myself has been to get this site rebuilt and live so my time is already spread thin so I can't always be monitoring the forums. Expect to see more of me moving forward though!
The layout and format of the site isn't why new and younger members leave.

They leave because the don't live near SLC, like the vast majority of the members on here do. There's no reason to stay if there's no hope of connecting with people. The challenge here isn't changing the look of the site. The challenge is drawing a more national user base. Or even finding a way to draw users from a lager region.

The other challenge is, swinger sites killed the old school print ads, the same way social media pages are killing swinger sites.
FYI, the who's online feature is messed up. Please repair it. Also, updating profile pics is broken as well. If you can get the original site working, that would be great.
Totally understand your position, As a previous Biz owner i agree that to forward the developing of ones biz improvement decisions must be made to improve one's biz, I do hope your decision works for you I am sure i will be able to get Thur the new format.
Thank you for creating this site for all of us

I have nothing against IMPROVING a site...but what you have done in this Beta addition is make it harder to use...it is NOT user friendly. I don't understand what you perceived the focus on the opening page should be, but it MUST be that you have no understanding of what the members of the site are interested in....certainly not what you have produced. I did not see any asking for input from the members as to what they would like to make the site more user friendly and provide for their needs for easy access to what interests they have. If you did...I missed it. This just looks like a typical corporate mentality perception of what members would want...ugh....horrible. Hopefully, you will do better.
Please make it so you can change your profile name. Been trying for weeks and no one answers the phone.

This is just an additional data point for us as well! It’s another part of our focus on the new design and capabilities to reach the rest of the nation and the world. The new site is heavily SEO optimized, the new events logic allows us to work with national promoters, and we’ve re-designed features like the forums with algorithms to show content relevant to users in their areas.

We also have boots on the ground in major cities ready to represent us but they can’t start until we have the new site up and running. Our new marketing push is national using search rankings and social media.

Part of the problem with the current site is that it’s perceived to be an Utah based site with all the of the posts and comments and we are going to change that. Nobody outside of Utah wants to pay for that experience. We’re now giving free basic membership access to verified members which keeps people coming back and helps weed out fakes at the same time. Non-verified members will have limited read-only access. No more TinasForYou. Everyone wins.

So the sooner we can get this up, the sooner we can start attracting new members from all over.

We’ve been asking for feedback and comments for months now. We haven’t had one person say they didn’t like the new format. That is why we opened it up to everyone. Keep in mind, we opened it up as a beta, not the final release. And that is why we kept the old site up on another url/domain.

Our issue wasn’t that we weren’t happy with what we released. Our issue was that it didn’t appear correctly for quite a few members because we were trying to be too modern with our tech. So we had to roll back to make sure all of you could continue to use Swingular until we fixed the issues.

The new design is similar to the old one and will have similar views and features but with major improvements. It has to be both desktop and mobile friendly so layouts and views have to change. But feature wise, everything that exists today will still be in the new experience. We are just adding more.

Like I said earlier, use the new site and give us feedback. We have no problem making minor changes or adding things you feel make using the site easier.

We don’t allow user name changes on purpose. In the past, we had problematic members who would change their usernames at will to make it appear they were someone else to avoid being recognized.

However, with the new site, we are adding a username change request feature where users can pay a small fee to change their username immediately or they can continue to contact us to change it for free. The fee will help prevent abuse.
Main site profile pictures are not working yet once again.
good luck hope it works
Although we sign on to the Beta site occasionally to see if there has been any improvements, perhaps one day hoping to get on there and finding a fully operational mobile app, but find it. It even up to speed with the already dysfunctional legacy site much less better. We’ll keep checking, but are we the only ones that continue to use the legacy site despite the promise of a new better version over a year ago ?
We're getting a LOT of these messages:
https://share.icloud.com/photos/05czyQreYg1qey4xS2DtN9z9A
Every time we try to send a message that's what we see. Hopefully you can see this. That is another thing we would like to see fixed - This site is unnecessarily difficult to upload and manage images. When compared to other lifestyle websites . . . it is downright ornerous. We'd love to see a kinder and gentler interface (lol). Good luck and thanks for all the effort.
The mobile site used to work for me and won’t work anymore. This sites permanently broken.

Whatever image link you shared, it’s not working. Can you attach it to a post using the photo attachment button or send me a direct message with it attached? Or better yet, if you use the Feedback button to the right, you can take a screenshot.
