Recently a bill was passed that gave Mr GW TWIG exceptional powers with regard to detainees. The article said that Mr Twig, by making it law within this country and with regard to terrorism, would protect Mr Twig and those operating under his orders from prosicution in the world court for "war crimes" or crimes against humanity. First of all lwt me say that because HE gets that law passed does not relieve him of responsibility. The Germans in WWII we not granted immunity for the treatment of prisoners or of the Jews illegally killed. Because it was the law in Iraq it is not protecting Sadam from prosiqution... What makes GW think he is above moral and ethical laws and behavior... Does he think God or Jesus will protect him.

He has done more to impeach the good name of the USA than any 10 presidents previously. There was talk to impeach 2 presidents at the end of WWII for the use of the A-Bomb... Professional politicians need to be put out. Pensions and medical plans terminated... The jobs in government were for people to serve the people not for the people to serve them, government officials and previous officials, for the rest of their lives... Some if not all should be tried for the crimes of laws that they pass while in office. This country was formed under the proposition that government was to be kept to a minimum... What has happened? What have we allowed to happen? When are polititions in both parties going to grow some balls and do the right things... There really is an answer to that question...... Just a short note here from a service member - I know there are many that frequent the site. To begin with I find it an affront that Don Juan used a photograph of flag-draped coffins at the beginning of this thread. It's a common photo used as propaganda by people who really have no idea what is really going on in Iraq. I myself spent a year of my life there, away from my wife and children to make sure that ignorant people like Don Juan can continue with their childish rants. The most unfortunate part about all of this is that DJ thinks he actually knows what he's talking about. I'm compelled to share a bit of information here - the news media has what could euphemistically be called a "skewed" view of the war in Iraq. This is mostly due to the fact that they aren't interested in talking to the average Kurdish Iraqi who now has the ability to walk to the corner store without fear of being murdered by Baath party fanatics. The media is all about showing visions of death and destruction and certainly love using numbers to show just how bad things are. Here's something to consider - How many people were murdered in Washington D.C. yesterday? I don't see DJ complaining about the poor job the D.C.P.D. are doing. Long story short - DJ, please don't run your mouth about things you are ignorant of (it's hard to say you're doing that when all you do is cut and paste articles, though), and please don't use images of flag draped coffins that carry MY brothers and sisters who gave the most precious thing they have so that you could continue to whine and complain in your ignorant little world.

I genuinely do have a curiosity about your viewpoint DJ. Even as a servicemember, I don't completely disagree with everything you have to say. I've seen the waste of war firsthand - both the loss in life, and the money wasted. Here's a new question for you: If you have such problems with the way things are being handled, what exactly are you doing to fix things aside from bitching in this forum? It's taken me little time to determine that you lack the intestinal fortitude to actually be in the military, so do you send letters to your Congressman? Maybe march in a protest? The most unfortunate thing about your attitude is that it belittles the vast achievements that have happened in Iraq (and Afghanistan but that's a different forum I think). Worse than that is the obvious lack of respect for the men and women in uniform that give so much for people they don't know (like yourself). As to your questioning my actually being in the military, I can't begrudge you that. I certainly am not going to post pictures from my time in Iraq. To begin with, an individual like yourself would immediately question the picture and likely say I stole it off the internet (like you seem to do yourself).
