Hey all! We are headed back again to Grand Miches Feb 24th to March 2nd. Anyone else going around that time? Anyone wanna join us ? it is such a fun resort!!
Out of curiosity, is it materially better than Pearl and RM? Other than the fact that it is newer?
We have not been to RM or Pearl but the majority of the reviews we have seen favor Miches over the former mainly because of the location and the lack of crowds. Some people like the full occupancy of Pearl and RM but we loved the intimacies of only about 50 couples. We really felt like we got to know everyone there in one way or another and it was awesome not to have to get up at 6 am to reserve a chair at the pool like we had to at Temptations cancun. And the naked hot tub is massive so everyone fits and has fun!! Does the resort have issues? Yes, but they are continuing to work on them and it seems to only get better.

Been to all three, and I can say I’d go back to Desire Pearl, and wouldn’t go back to Temptation Grand Miches or Desire RM. We did a review of TGM where we went with 3 other couples. You can probably find it if you dig.

I have been to Temptation in Cancun and wasn't a huge fan. The facilities and people were great, but it didn't seem very LS oriented when I was there, which is why my two "go-tos" at this point are Hedo in Jamaica and Cap D'Agde in France.
People confuse Temptation in Mexico as a LS resort. It’s not.
The Desire resorts in Mexico are.
Temptation Grand Miches is also absolutely LS… and its neighbor Temptation Miches is equal to Temptation in Mexico (not LS).
It’s a little confusing, so we heard they may change Temptation Grand’s name to Desire.

They changed the name to Desire Miches this month. We went in Oct and will never go back. We will stick with Hedo.

Will you share opinions why? We have our own reasons of course, just curious. Also, can you make some comparisons with Hedo? We’ve never been there.

Pearl is smaller, more upscale, quieter… but also more expensive, so I think that’s a factor in why the clientele seems to trend “older”. Younger couples tend to look for lower budget options with less disposable income available, and I think that affects the vibe difference between the two resorts.
Desire RM was literally a spring break party vibe from early in the day to very late at night.
Desire Pearl is very laid back and quiet during the day, but still has a party vibe at night... just nowhere near RM. It seems more civilized, I guess. Best way I can put it without sounding too bougie 🤷🏽♂️
You’ll hear similar opinions about Pearl vs. RM, and most of what I’ve seen written about the two places is very accurate.
Tip:
Stay at Pearl, and you can jump on the 10 minute shuttle to RM down the road. Sample both by paying the extra money for Pearl… at least that’s how it was before. I don’t imagine it’s changed since it’s the same resort hopping concept for the new Dominican locations. Pay more for the upscale resort, double your restaurants, pools, gyms, and meet more couples. RM does not have access to Pearl.

Does Desire actually advertise itself as an LS resort? From what I understand all of them try to avoid that brand so not to turn people off, especially younger people who have negative connotations with the word Swinger/Lifestyle etc. But I get what you mean in the sense that Temptation is topless only while the Desires are clothing optional and Hedo is half clothing optional and half mandatory nude.

You’re right. Desire does not explicitly market itself as LS or swinger resorts. They market themselves as “clothing optional”, and the more you dig into plans of staying there, the more details are discovered about play areas in designated public spots.
Desire Grand Miches in the DR was sooooo coy about what goes on there. We had to verify it was swinger friendly from 3rd party reviews and resources that confirmed the play areas it has.
I think it is awesome that the Life style group has many different choices. Definitely gives people a chance to chose the vibe that is them.
