We are looking at doing the LLV club a cruise in OCT but have never been to one of their events or cruise take overs before. Has anybody ever done an LLV event or takeover? Thoughts?

We’ve done many LLV takeovers and cruises beginning with the maiden voyage from Venice throughout the Adriatic Sea., then doing the next 3 cruises. Pros: Fun, good itenerary. Stops, and very high end. Cons: sometimes cliquey, booze upgrade very expensive, too many “paid for by each paying couple” overhead “do nothingers”, need an extra week for anything overseas, and very expensive when compared to non-lifestyle cruises.
Our two cents. Take it or leave it. For the record, after doing the last Costa Rica takeover, we decided to no longer attendi any LLV trips. That hotel was not good. 2 stars, maybe. If we want 2 stars accommodations , we’ll stick to Desire Riviera Maya. (Not so much Pearl and we can’t afford the Mansion ).

Good info thanks! We were looking at the LLV events as a possible higher end LS vacation option. Guess we will stick to Desire Pearl , and try their new resort in the Dominican Republic after they work out the bugs.

We don’t mind higher end and the cost, just trying to gage whether it’s a legit full ship takeover and how the vibe is. We are also looking at the NYE Desire Cruise in Rio de Janeiro. We’ve done a desire cruise before and it was great.
