I'm sorry but "Not caring" is what got us in to this situation in the first place. I don't like Don much, and personally I wish he'd shut up. But at least he's out there expressing his view and keeping the issue infront of us. I may never want to meet him but it is his right to speak out. Don, if by your logic, if the Japanesse had asked us to remove our troops from the Asian thearter then we could have avoided Pearl Habor then we should have? The other day, my nine year old son wanted to know why we were at war...My husband looked at our son and then looked at me. My husband and I were in the Army during the Gulf War and we would be honored to serve and defend our Country again today. I knew that my husband would give him a good explanation. My husband thought for a few minutes and then told my son to go stand in our front living room window.
He said "Son, stand there and tell me what you see?"
"I see trees and cars and our neighbor's houses." he replied.
"OK, now I want you to pretend that our house and our yard is the United States of America and you are President Bush."
Our son giggled and said "OK."
"Now son, I want you to look out the window and pretend that every house and yard on this block is a different country" my husband said.
"OK Dad, I'm pretending."
"Now I want you to stand there and look out the window and pretend you see Saddam come out of his house with his wife, he has her by the hair and is hitting her. You see her bleeding and crying. He hits her in the face, he throws her on the ground, then he starts to kick her to death.
Their children run out and are afraid to stop him, they are screaming and crying, they are watching this but do nothing because they are kids and they are afraid of their father. You see all of this, son....what do you do?"

THAT scenario I just gave you is WHY we are at war in Iraq. When good men stand by and let evil happen, son; THAT the greatest atrocities in the world won't affect him. "YOU MUST NEVER BE AFRAID TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT! EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT ALONE!"

Do we jump in to the middle of a fight where we could be attacked by either army? No I don't think so either. So our third choice, support the side we'd rather have win. Hmmm, doesn't cost us any american lives. And since I don't think anyone could have pulled out the crystal ball and seen what was coming, we went that way.

Let's see... why would attacking Iraq (A major influence in the Middle East), help fight terrorism. Well, if you don't know... terrorists are not a country, but a group of people from several Middle Eastern Countries, to include Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc. Many of these country's governments harbor and/or aid these terrorists. This was proven to be true after the invasion of Iraq and defeat of the Iraqi army, where the terrorist led insurgency sprang up well organized knowing all about the infastructure, weapons caches, and endless supply of UXO's (Unexploded Ordinances). Here's the thing.....I dont know about this topic that much. I have found the posting when the facts have been argued very intriquing but its the rude, disrespectful blows on each other that everyone finds annoying. As far as my thoughts on the subject...mmmm lets see it started out as a 9/11 posting and it has turned into a whole other ball game it seems. I dont know a lot about government, I am sorry to say. I guess I play ignorant, and I dont want to know a lot about it. There is a lot that goes on that I just dont want to know about. Its like my dad told me once....(he is currently running for Sherriff and has worked in detective work for years) he said...there is so much that goes on around you all the time, that if you knew the half of the sad, sick, and cruel things that happened you wouldnt know quite what to do. Apparently there is a lot of things that happen around us in everyday life and in government that maybe we dont need to know the why's, whats, and hows of it all. The truth is I cant argue anything about this topic, cuz I plain ass dont know anything about it. I know that I am lucky enough to be born in the States and I am grateful for that. I do vote, I do pay attention to current issues and I do involve myself somewhat with city functions....oh and I do support our President and our troops. I do agree that this War in Iraq was necessary whether it is right or wrong doesnt matter because it is currently in progress and so to argue the point of whether it is wrong or right just isnt productive. I have respect for the President because he isnt giving up he is going to finish the job over there. Maybe it is a no win battle, and maybe the job there will never be done.....I guess time will tell. Like I said, I dont proclaim to be brillant in the subject of government, but I do support them whether I think they are right or wrong. They make a decision and I support it. To be honest, I guess I view life a little bit differently then most. The way I see it is...there was a beginning and there will be an end....and everything in between is up to me to make worth living. All I can do is, do my best to support others, who have a harder job then I ever will, raise my children to be honest, hard working individuals, and at the end of the day kiss my husband and know that I have done my best that day to live life the best I know how.
I guess I dont know a lot about politics, and government (mmmm? are they the same thing) but give me the topic about raising kids, changing diapers, and breast feeding and I can give you lots of information on that....LMAO!!!
