We’ve been having issues receiving messages via K I K . Has anyone else had problems? What other messaging app does about the same thing but actually works?
If you update the app it should fix the problem.
Yeah we actually found and reported the bug for them. The released a pseudo (not perfect) fix for it in the latest update.

I reported the bug to KIK as well and all I got in response was they know about the bug and have disabled the new chat tab and have no timeline as to when they will fix it. Where did you find the pseudo fix?

The update seemed to work for a while, now we’re not getting any messages. It doesn’t look like any of the sent messages are working either. WhatsApp or discord?
where is the update ...not in my Apple app store??
mine says update 16.1.8 from 4 days ago....the icon changed and has KIK and LIVE on it now....been having trouble for several weeks...someone from this link please KIK me...eros693
I highly recommend moving off kik. The app has not been maintained and was purchased years ago by a private equity company that has no plans for the app apart from data mining. They literally are doing the bare minimum to keep it viable. Kik doesn’t offer any encryption and offers privacy only because it doesn’t ask for personal info during signup. They do however capture device and IP information when using it, so there is no really privacy with the app.
A strongly recommend using another app. I have had good luck with telegram, but the security and privacy of that app is not completely understood, as the ownership is private and the code is not open source. The advantage is like kik, it can be used with a username instead of a phone number. And it is a modern app receiving good regular updates.
I’m not aware of any perfect options at this time. Signal is the best but until they implement usernames for chatting without a phone number it’s not the perfect solution for this community.

PaddleAndRun has it right - a disaster of an app, poor security, pretty much junk. We’ve switched to text instead. Once we’re comfortable enough to meet a couple, seems reasonable to share phone info. We trust our beautiful lifestyle friends..

Although we use kik, we much prefer MeWe.

Have the same problem on iPhone. Get notifications of new chats but they don’t come through.

Don't have much issue, as I rarely use it.
Never taken the time to really meet anyone to chat on there with.

We updated ours and it worked for a second then shopped working again.
