Our current life schedule means that our best free time is in the day from about 10am to 3pm. Our nights and weekends are occupied. We aren't finding a lot of great day use hotel options. Surprisingly the day use hotel rooms we've found are often more expensive for 4-6 hours than a normal overnight. We aren't quite comfortable yet with the idea of hosting at our house.

Your problem is your play window. 10am to 3 pm is when they hotels like to clean and prepare the rooms for the next rounds of guests. About the only way to get around that is to book two days but then that doubles your expenses. The only trick I have found to get around that is to book the day before and ask for an early check in. I know of a Quality Inn in Layton that does a noon check-in. Its a drive from South Jordan but at least it gives you a couple of hours.
10am to 3pm is prime time for a home meet up. So many people work from home now, I wonder how it impacted quick little visits. Its been nice.
