I have to say it because the Covid post turned into a political debate. I’m not going to say anything else other than, leave it out of the LS. It reminds me of two little kids playing. One white and one black. They are best friends and have so much fun together. It’s because they are none the wiser about skin color or racism. Which is taught. Just two human beings enjoying each other’s company. Don’t you think many couples would meet with politics left behind and have a fantastic time regardless? When the political cloud is lifted, we’re all just good people here looking to have some fun. Please, for the sake of never knowing some great people, don’t judge based on political affiliation. You’re really limiting your experiences. We will swing with any party. Right, left, middle, we don’t care! We look for chemistry and attraction and nothing more. In swinging and playing we are mingling our bodies, this opens us up to diseases. Some people are concerned about these diseases, so it is important to them to feel protected against them.
I don't think politics or your decision to get vaccinated are as important as transparency of information and the trust of that information.
If there ever is an HIV vaccine (for example) I would want whoever I play with to also have it. If someone did not want to get that vaccine, that is their choice (sad because we could eliminate HIV, if they/everyone got it...) but what is important to me, is that they share this information with me, so that I can make an informed choice to not play with that person. Hence why having papers could be important to people, because that somewhat solves the "trust" problem.

Have to agree with YOUNGAND here and, at the risk of harshing a bit of a kumbaya moment, play devil's advocate just a little (Shocking, right? ;P). We've been in the lifestyle for a LONG time and have def become good friends with people of all races, creeds (politics?) and religions and, for the most part, gotten along just fine. Having said that, we've also had some incredibly awkward, and even an outright dangerous, situation crop up that might have been avoided if we've listened to our gut a little more and, perhaps, said "Thanks but no thanks." to at least a few people along the way.
I alluded earlier to an incident where one of our "friends" actually pulled a gun on another of our friends at a party we were hosting after having a little too much to drink and misreading a situation between his wife and another friend. Luckily, we were able to diffuse the situation and the evening ended without violence, albeit on a pretty sour note. We had no idea he had a gun with him but, in hindsight, we probably should have known that it was at least a possibility.
Another time we were lying there in a little puppy-pile with two other couples basking in post-coital bliss when one of the ladies loudly started praying (We actually thought, at first, that she was just punking us all and inappropriately started laughing at her.) and thanking "Jesus" for the amazing sex we'd all just had. I won't bore you with the rest of her rather lengthy prayer but suffice it to say it was a HUGE buzzkill/wet blanket over the rest of the evening.
So, while I can totally appreciate the "Can't we all just get along?" vibe, I know from experience that it isn't always possible nor is it preferable in every situation with every individual in the lifestyle. Personally, I think reasonable rational adults should be able to debate and disagree about things without it turning too contentious or threatening violence. Carry on.

There is some truth to the idea that you are known by the company you keep. By extension, that also includes the beliefs that you profess. Yes you’re so right. I can’t tell you how many times Nazi’s and white supremacists have crashed otherwise good LS parties. It’s been a real problem. That entire comment to me, solidifies how polarized this world has become. We've actually found that in many ways the lifestyle is just as closed-minded (maybe even more!) than society in general. Maybe it's because we're getting a LOT closer than people normally do in their everyday lives. There are many cliques, people who won't even consider someone of a certain body type/weight, height, cock size, those who have a strict age range, and yes, even those who will only consider people who are a certain race or ethnic group. The problem is there isn’t a political party for a most that actually fits the bill perfectly. We hear you. We don’t think all republicans are anti lgbtq… we just take issue with the trump supporters who stood by his anti lgbtq policies. Articulating thoughts is important, and we could have done better clarifying that. We have to take in consideration all of the above because if we are to open our relationship (and not just the bedroom)… there are certain morals / values that we wouldn’t compromise on. For example if my wife and I were polar opposite on a human rights issue… we wouldn’t be married. We feel the same for bringing another couple into our hearts and relationship. The reason a person's politics influences whether or not another person wants to fuck them is because of what politics has descended into. It used to be that politics was a debate over how big to make the defense budget, whether or not a large social safety net was helpful, is progressive taxation better than a flat tax, etc. Issues of policy where everybody was using the same facts and basic logic tools to debate. Now politics is a fight over the very nature of what it is to be a moral person. It is a fight over the fundamentals of what is a fact and what is a lie. It is hard to respect someone enough to want to get intimate with them when they are so fr from you about such fundamental issues. Would you want to fuck a child rapist? Well, to some the opinions of some others are that disturbing.

Good analogy … but it’s the politicians and mainstream media that have divided the country by spewing that every person of a particular party takes the same exact position on so many social issues that have now become political issues ….and all because the nit wit politicians have assigned a particular social position or belief to their party line. And a ton of people in this country believe what they’re being fed ….. SHEEP!
It's interesting how so many people want to continue to discuss this topic, it gives me hope that even though we are polarized, there might be a way we communicate with one another (even if it just trolling ;p).
I've been reading "Why we are so polarized" by Ezra Klein, it is very informative. I honestly believe if all voting adults read it, we could fix many of our problems (which if you've read the book you'd understand as ironic/paradoxical).

We're polarized, because we've formed identities around the parties and any information that challenges our identity we automatically dismiss. This is the same for anyone from "woke liberals" to "long time democrats" to "trump republicans" to "tax based republicans", etc...

You're 100% right.
It's the fact that many people allow themselves the easy path of delusions via political rhetoric by politicians and the media that's the underlying problem. I don't believe most of what I hear and read in the media - from either side. I spend a lot of time trying to figure it out for myself, but then I also know that I don't have access to all of the truth, so my at least partially informed version of the truth is probably skewed as well.
Thus - I don't want to get into any kind of political discussion with someone I'm about to party with. Neither of us is right, and the likelihood of convincing the other person that each of us is right is so obscure that it's not at all likely, so why ruin a perfectly good relationship? (How's that for a run-on sentence, for all of you grammar Nazis?)
