Utah should really get an adult themed pool. Something with a poolside bar. I would imagine business would be booming if this were the case. No kids. Whoever has the cash or the connections make this happen!
This is a brilliant idea!!
We agree 1000 percent!
Agreed!
Agree!
It would need to be a LOT of cash and even BIGGER connections to convince the powers-that-be...the Utah State Religiouslature and, by proxy, the Mormon church, to allow something like that. Still, it's probably at least slightly more feasible than, say, recreational pot or a lottery. LOL
Both alcohol and swimming pools are very highly regulated… putting them together is just about impossible here. Also a 4 month pool season makes it highly unlikely to make it worth while.
I wonder how doing it within the context of a private club would effect the ability to circumvent some of the regulation. An indoor or covered pool would allow year round fun so the seasonal limitation isn't necessarily an issue.

There used to be a nudist organization that rented a pool from a scuba store for a monthly get together. I think it might have been new management or a new owner that put the kibosh on it.

We have been following the development of the Edison House coming to downtown SLC next year. It will have an adult pool. Not lifestyle, but a fun club for adults.

When we think of adult pool we mean nude/topless with a bar. This definitely doesn't look to be nude or topless (top optional even) type of place. Looks like a nice place though.
Here is what I know.
Many years ago, a nudist club rented from a scuba shop on Highland Drive in SLC. Change of ownership killed that. Now the Wasatch Maturists will or do host a monthly swim at a scuba shop in Ogden. The group information is on their Facebook page.
We lucky souls of Southwest Utah have the club Southern Utah Naturist Society or SUNS. The club meets twice per month for a non-sexual nude swim in St. George. We have a Facebook page and maybe a web page. Also we can be found through the AANR web site.
The good news is that the owners of the pool are swingers and belong to this site, but I don't know their use name. They would love to host a play party anytime there is enough interest. Our first one had few attendees but was fun. You may contact me via this web site for more information.

Website said no dress code unless a specific event has one. The phrase “You do you” is specifically used. Lol! I bet we could host a party there.

Good point!!!
a place like the Red Rooster in Las Vegas would be fun in northern Utah, They do not sell alcohol, but it is byob and turn it in to the bar tender, and she dishes out your own drink. They furnish mixers, and coke and so on, but no alcohol. They have a great D J and he is really connected to the patrons, and also they have a hot tub, that is clothing optional, but no one ever wears a swim suit, and it is a real fun place to go. They also have private rooms, that you can use for a maximum of 20 minutes, for when you get frisky with your partner.
if someone has the cash and the connections pm i have the place,,,its a rv park with pool and facility's its perfect

Evil is absolutely correct. This has been the headwind all libertines have fought in Utah since before Statehood, and one of the reasons Utah took so long to become a State (NOT named Deseret).

But there is one axiom that applies here. "How do you get a Mormon to change his principles? Offer him a dollar. And if that doesn't work threaten to tax him a dollar."
Out of the gates from a legal perspective, the pool would absolutely have to be BYOB, which is probably ok since places like the Playhouse in Las Vegas manage that well (and it's far less expensive than paying alcohol markup). No way does an organization dealing with a pool with a sexually oriented business license gets a liquor license. Second, getting business license for a sexually oriented business that involves alcohol and a pool...pretty sure that would be shot down under "public safety" pretenses. I guess it could be argued that the nudity is ancillary and not relevant for business licensing purposes since it's all consenting adults....but I would think a business licensing agency would be on that issue pretty quick and revoke the business license. From a liability standpoint, I guess one entity could own the facility/pool and rent it to an organization...getting that organization a business license and potentially liability insurance would be the challenge. Theoretically feasible, but lots of speed bumps.
Heading to Vegas Saturday morning will be down there for four days Hope we run into somebody while we’re down there
It is currently against the law in Utah to mix nude and alcohol for a commercial establishment and this means "private club." Yes, you can do so at your personal home all day (and night long). You can also do so if you have a guest list. But that is it. No commercial establishment can get a liquor license if there is anything close to nudity on the menu.

Welcome to PrUdah.

If you get an outdoor pool with a bar and sand volleyball, it would be off the hook

yup, FA is still closed but SMI is not! Also, several pool house parties happening around SoCal every weekend
If we lived in a state where the oppressive views of the church impacted liquor and adult entertainment, it would work. However, unless it was a private residential pool, the county health department would end up shutting it down even though a family pool will have more "biological material" than an adult only pool. The values of the community would be under attack! Which makes me wonder, if so many people are in this lifestyle, why isn't this state more open.

Well if you have some cowboys tickets then YES!
I've conjugated on the idea of an abandoned BLM mining claim re-aquirred but as a sportsmans' club thingy. If we're allowed private property rights for extraction why not also recreation.
