The hubby and I have talked about going on double dates with other couples but swapping for the entirety of the date. For example, if we were to do dinner and a movie, I would sit with the husband of the other couple, he'd pay for my dinner, etc. While his wife is doing the same with my husband. We'd all be together, but our focus would be on each other's spouses, rather than out own. And the end of the night, if sparks fly between both swapped couples, full swap play is possible. (We're not above having sex on a first date if there's enough interest all around)

We went on separate dates on different days. Of course you would go home and tell your spouse about what you did.
It turned out the guys trying to out do each other with the others wife. The winners were the ladies that had some amazing dates.

Just curious, Were you exclusive with that other couple? We're not really looking for anything exclusive, just fun dates getting to know more people.

You could go that far. I think the idea in general would be to encourage the interactions opposite of the usual comfort area. So at dinner sit next to the other SO. Walking with the opposite. Etc. Defining it pushes the focus away from the natural “I’m comfortable with my partner” actions. It’s not this way for everyone, but setting the understanding would help for some.

We nailed this once with a couple we had been messaging because we shared upcoming vacay dates at Desire RM. They live in San Antonio and the wives were both out of town on business at the same time. On the same evening he picked the other her up at her hotel and took her out for dinner in SATX while the other he picked the other her up from her hotel for dinner and drinks at BTG in SLC. The men were complete gentlemen and of course paid. Meeting for the first time and exchanging selfies between couples was great fun. A couple days later the ladies met at the gate in SATX airport because one simply boarded the same plane back after the other arrived.
The coincidences were many and it all worked out so well. Pretty trusting of the ladies, but then the men are no slouches.

Always fun. We've done it in a non-formal way . . . meaning, often when we meet a couple for dinner (especially if its friends we've been out with before) I'll sit next to his wife and visa versa. I think we enjoy the sexy flirting at dinner almost as much as play time. The conversation with LS friends is ALWAYS infinitely better and more interesting than with vanilla friends. We've yet to double date to a movie . . . but its on our list. A little play time in the movie house sounds exciting!

This sounds super fun! We had talked about doing it with some friends years ago but never got it done! We live in a small town and would have to travel a bit to do it.
We did this with a girlfriend of ours while we were out of town. All went out for dinner with girlfriend and husband totally acting as if they were the married couple. A very enjoyable time for all .
