After a fairly long deployment in the lifestyle trenches, I can tell you that from our experience THE best way to approach a woman about being in the lifestyle (short of approaching a unicorn who's already IN the lifestyle) is to find a great woman, build a wonderful, solid relationship built on trust and understanding and THEN, once she feels safe and secure in the relationship, gently bring up the idea of swinging.
I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear but in our experience, it's by FAR the best way to do it. In other words, don't put the cart before the horse. Sure it's possible to approach it more directly and without having to put in all the work of a regular relationship but we've seen far too many guys strike out doing it that way. YMMV
