Who knew erotic balloon animal artistes were considered essential frontline workers?

Four weeks from yesterday...give or take a few days for it to kick in. Btw, the vaccine was absolutely painless. The ONLY part that was excruciating was when the nurse told us we would have to contact customer service to get the microchip activated before we can, like, order a pizza or pay our T-Mobile bill without being near a smart device. And, of course, CS is out of the office for the holiday.

Oh great, now I'm not gonna be the one to get a portion of his wealth from sharing those messages on FB.

But in all seriousness, glad you were able to get yours sooner rather than later. I had Covid 3.5 months ago and still am having some long term symptoms/effects from it. I have zero underlying conditions. I'm definitely taking it as soon as I can. I'm not risking another round of it once the antibodies wear off.

Sorry to hear that. Know quite a few long-haulers and just the THOUGHT of not being able to, say, taste coffee for more than one day sends shivers down my spine. Life would NOT be worth living at that point and I would probably just volunteer to hunt down murder hornets, naked, and end it all.

Well for someone who loves to cook, this has been a fucking nightmare to say the least. So the naked murder hornet hunting is appealing. Some things I can smell and taste just fine now, some things smell and taste distorted, and some things I can't smell or taste at all still. I'm trying to come to terms that it will probably never be as good as it was, especially since this has gone on for so long now. It is still improving slightly though. I had a complete loss of taste and smell to everything for a good 2 weeks. Sweet flavors was the first thing to slowly come back, everything else is still a clusterfuck. It's so bizarre.

I know. It's brutal. However, I am willing to continue testing to see if it is coming back. You know, for scientific purposes.

Fun fact, my wife did not get it, even after sex while I was showing symptoms. I had minor congestion that I thought was my normal seasonal allergies since I'm allergic to just about every desert plant in this state. I had not lost my taste and smell at that point. We separated into different bedrooms after that symptom.

Well, I did get mine from a friend who wasn't showing symptoms yet, and our contact was literally only talking to each other for a couple minutes, no physical contact. So there's that.

I think we are going to find out blood types and other genetic factors play a role into why some people get it easily and why some don't and possibly how it reacts so differently in each person.

Yup. Genes May Influence COVID-19 Risk
Also, lots of new evidence on viral load and how much virus you're actually exposed to can determine how sick you get. Viral Load...
Congrats! We can't wait to get our vaccines. We just wish Utah would follow the Federal guidelines instead of making up their own rules.

Agree. It's a crapshoot. And it's not just Utah. We should have much stronger guidelines and leadership from the top instead of...well, instead of whatever the fuck it is that we have now. Of course the Federal govt. isn't exactly following it's own guidelines. Otherwise you wouldn't see politicians, some of whom have downplayed the pandemic if not outright called it a hoax, jumping to the front of the line to get vaccinated. We need to vaccinate teacherss, NOW! Especially with this new variant that's going to really wallop the entire planet very soon. This scares the HELL out of me! COVID Wards Full of Children

I thought this was interesting. Not a big fan of Mittens but he DEF has a point that even if we can somehow get more vaccine there isn't ANY kind of comprehensive plan to get it into people's arms at the rate we need to do it to start getting past this pandemic. He is urging mobilizing retired healthcare workers, EMT's, veterinarians, phlebotomists, and others who can be easily trained to give a shot and setting up numerous locations that people can go to get the vaccine. Urgent Action Needed
What a thread!
What year was the syringe invented? 1844. 1853 mass Production But I wish everyone health and prosperity.
Interesting reading but it seems to have wandered off the original thread. lol
Great view

What a Very Beautiful view it is.

I guess sarcasm escapes some people. And I ABSOLUTELY don't understand what politics has to do with this. Do you somehow imagine that a virus has a political viewpoint or agenda? Feel free, however, to start your own thread if mine didn't meet your expectations.

My bad.. Wasn’t trying to criticize your post and wasn’t aware that I couldn’t comment. Your response to my comment seems a bit over the top. How about them Sexy New Year photos?

I didn't see (or intend) my response as over the top but then that's the imperfection of communication via the written word without the context of facial expression, voice inflection, and even body language. I get that you prolly wanted to see some naughty pics and I didn't necessarily intend for the thread to go the direction it did but that's the beauty of the interwebs...like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. But, again, if you noticed the sarcasm of the thread header juxtaposed with the initial pic you should have known this wouldn't necessarily turn into a thread with a bunch of sexy pics to perv. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
BTW, hats off to any of you who participated in any of the vaccine clinical trials. You are TRUE heroes!

The virus doesn’t know shit about politics, but the social issue of the pandemic has totally become a political tool.... for both parties. Which is why I dont believe much of anything I hear or read from the news. Even Pope Fauci and the CDC can’t get their stories straight from one week to the next, and politicians are basing there mandates and decisions on proven overstated positive test and mortality statistics. This doesn’t mean it’s not real, or not really bad, but it’s become a political tool and we aren’t always being told the truth. Just sayin ;)

Meh, I still trust science, scientists, and solid, peer-reviewed research. The rest is just background noise. It's really not that hard to track down the truth (as much of it as we currently have) and ignore the hyper-partisan echo chambers that somehow pass for facts. Of course, science can always change if new evidence points somewhere else but it beats the hell out of following all the ridiculous conspiracy theories and the bullshit, pseudo-scientific gobbledygook that are apparently "alternative facts" these days.
Everyone has different beliefs and should be respected in all aspects. Those that implement there thoughts and will to others. By intimidation or simply in I’m right your wrong . That’s Ill- mannered Be safe everyone.

You're conflating beliefs with evidence-based facts and truth. Is there literally ANYTHING that someone cannot BELIEVE simply because they want to believe it? Should my belief that you not be allowed to drive your car anywhere because I BELIEVE you might run over and kill all the invisible gnomes that are dancing around in the road be valid and preclude you from driving? Where would it end if every belief was deemed as equally valid as every actual fact or truth?
Speaking of gnomes, I only just recently heard that having a garden gnome in your yard can be sign to others that you’re swingers ... who knew 🤷‍♂️

Yes, but it has to be a REAL gnome and not one of those fake ones you buy at Home Depot...or at Four Season's Landscaping.

. . . then we were destined to become swingers because . . . I think 'gnome' is the sound my boys made while racing their trucks along the kitchen floor . . . you know . . . gnome . . . gnome .. . . gnoooooooommmmeee!

I don't smoke and I know PLENTY of facts. 2 + 2 = 4, the gravitational constant on earth is 9.81 m/s squared, the adult human body has, on average, approx. 100,000 km of blood vessels, and the earth isn't fucking flat. Oh, and there is currently a pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Sorry to hear that you feel like nothing is true and that the only facts are what someone else tells you is true. Pick up a book now and then. You might be surprised what you discover is actually true. I guess the election was rigged too, right? This world must be very scary for you.

ps- I don't know if this helps, but I strongly believe in term limits and that we need to somehow get to the point where we have a viable political system of more than two parties. Now back to those sexy NYE pics. Big shoutout for SCIENCE and modern medicine and vaccines! :-)

pps- Here are some fun FACTS to amaze your friends and neighbors! 15 Facts That Will Blow Your Mind
And a VERY happy New Year to you as well!
