I know with the Covid, people tend to meet a lot less, but maybe if people got tested regularly, it would help ? What's your take on that ?
I work in nursing... I ain't scared.

What IS recovery with this virus? A negative test? Antibodies present in the blood? Lack of recognizable symptoms? We simply don't know enough, yet, about this novel virus to have very many answers. Some of those infected are STILL suffering significant symptoms months after contracting it. Some don't have symptoms but have possibly persistent inflammation and/or damage in major organs and systems. Personally, we are far more concerned about relatively longterm convalescence and/or permanent disability of some kind than we are about dying from COVID-19.
There are some really good papers online speaking to COVID-related myocarditis and ground-glass opacity pulmonary lesions in a fair percentage of symptomatic COVID-19 patients as well as many other relatively unique pathologies (or if not unique, at least unanticipated in this type of infection).

As for the OP's original question, personally, I don't think frequent testing (or even positive antibody tests) would necessarily make us feel all that much safer about meeting people socially (without masks and/or relevant social distancing) or for intimate play. Ultimately, it's for everyone to decide for themselves, do their homework (No, not just YouTube videos! lol), and weigh the risks/rewards of carrying on as normal in the lifestyle. YMMV
I've been getting tested twice a month at work, which is good enough for us. Definitely don't blame anyone for being more cautious than we are, though! So over the damper its putting on the lifestyle (along with everything else). Hopefully there's an end in sight!!

Well said! Do your research and do what you feel is best for you. And don’t judge or ridicule those that have a different opinion.
So I will transition for a moment.

We attended a birthday party in June a total of 5 couples who had minimal contact with others. This was on a Sunday and we get a call wednesday that the host tested positive. He was tested for cataract surgery. We are camping with my 84 year old mother inlaw when we find out.. We finally got tested on the next Monday (what a fucking hassle). By Tuesday we find out we are negative.

We are at a riskier age but in good health but what about others we come into contact with? Lots of younger couples are ok playing with strangers. In normal times so are we. We are being cautious and think everyone should do what they are comfortable with.
It seems like a lifetime ago since we had a date with another couple. And we have completely stopped going to large gatherings, conventions and takeovers. We have been very cautious. We've even taken multiple covid tests before meeting others, which came back negative. So, we tried another approach, which was to find one couple to have a temporary exclusive FWBs relationship with (not polyamorous). This couple would also be compatible in types of fun activities and their approach to covid. A lot of couples wanted to go out with us, but no one was willing to be temporarily exclusive. We get that and understand it because making connections with multiple couples is what most of us want and it's how we normally approach the lifestyle. But these are not normal times. So, we continue our search.
I personally tend to get more prepared when i meet,we set up a date where both parties have time to get tested before meeting up. This seems to be working for me. It's true i tend to have less encounters than before. But i don't completely shut down.

This is our preferred method covid to not. To have quantity versus quality.

OMG, stop testing, do you test for the flu every week, because people die from the flu. How about we keep everyone from dying and everyone stay at home, no more jobs everyone has a garden and eat of the land, shut down all internet and yes netflix (😢) if you want to keep safe then dig a hole, jump in and don’t come out, life is risky and things happen, its sad but We chose to live our lives even with covid.

Hum no i don't get tested for the flu i get Vaccinated, also it's not only for me that i get tested, but to ensure the safety of my surrounding.

This is why we have been cautious. In the face of uncertainty, precautions are always mandatory.
How many couples would be interested in testing prior to meeting? Seems like a small investment for a large payoff...

We would like that others and ourselves get tested.... if we had that confidence, we would be out playing more (we are going crazy not being able to have some fun).
We love your explanation! Convalescent ejaculatation therapy! Is that as effective as drinking Lysol? 🤣 Sadly there are people who believe (not think) that this is effective. Cheers 😁✊ Stay safe everyone. Hopefully in a year this national emergency (and the more recent pandemic) that has plagued us for the last four years will be over.
DMed you.
it's about being cautious and understanding the risks you're willing to take as a couple. I travel for work and have continued traveling due to COVID (I've been to OR, CA, MS, FL, AL). Every work trip Ive had to follow state guidelines and quarantine in my hotel room for 14 days. Even talking with a friend from UT that I hike with consistently he got sick and went to the doc and they offered him a COVID test and an antibody test and he tested negative for COVID and positive for antibodies so now who fucking knows what I contracted it or don't even have it at all. I don't know what camp I sit in. Whether the full stop hermit in your house and only go out for groceries and take out. Or take your precautions and make the adjustments due to the people around you? But I do what I can when I can. This is a serious virus but considering the UT environment is in better control (contrary to popular belief)than more populous states.
Our kids and us all got COVID-19 at the end of July. We are ready to play without any fear. We can’t get anyone sick and nobody can get us sick. Anyone jealous yet?
Better not drive your cars if you’re that worried.
All good here. Tested and antibody tested. Both negative. Let’s party! 😁

Congrats, I guess. Though I don't think you're necessarily 100% safe. Too many unknowns with a virus that isn't really even a year old yet. *shrug*

Agreed. Yeaa cool they got it. You can get reinfected. or it was false pos/neg due to shit tests. Until its herd immunity or phase 3 trials are complete with a vaccine thats taken a year around the world (when vaccines take 10+ years). Along with minor mutations being noticed around the world.

Well, the whole world is all reading the same info from the CDC, media and social media sites. The only thing that people fear is the unknown and unfortunately there is as much misinformation out there as there is fact.

I was a nurse for 11 years specifically working with the military and infectious diseases. Here’s my advice, stay in your own comfort zone for you and your family and don’t criticize others for what they decide to do unless it puts you at risk. Of coarse you always have the same know-it-alls in every social media site including this one that will push their opinions and criticisms on you and others. Do what you and your partner are happy and comfortable with and let others do the same.
