I am not sure if it is common for all Hotwife couples, but I join single men, women, and couples when the opportunity arises.

Yeah, I know it's not "technically" hotwifing but one of the things I've always really enjoyed about swinging was the fact that I can watch my wife being pleasured from a wholely different vantage point than when I'm fucking her myself.
