VHS to DVD is fairly simple. All you need is a TV tuner setup for your PC. I picked up one from OFFICEMAX for around $25. This one actually had to be installed inside the pc (ie. PC Card). They have one for $75 at w-mart that is external (no promises as I haven't used that one). I think most or all of them come with video capture software that's almost child's play to use. Then all you need is a DVD authoring program (ie. NEROVision Express, or Sonic DVD..of which I prefer the former). The only problem is that for a great quality DVD version it works better with the Dual-Layer DVD's in my opinion. It'll fit on one DVD, but it takes a conversion that might separate the timing for the video and sound. I've had luck with the regular DVD's though, it just takes a couple of tries, and leaving the PC alone for about an hour.
