I'm 3 days new here. Prior to signing up, I had only read bits and pieces about "swinging". It seemed so "out there" and taboo. But, as I spend time looking around this site, I can't help but wonder how many people I interact with in regular day-to-day life are into this sort of thing, or have tried... or would like to but steer clear due to the stigma associated with it. At this moment, I'm inclined to think there's a good number of the latter, and probably far more who have fantasized or do fantasize about it.

Swinger envy. I think it's a bug. And it feels like I'm catching it. Very intriguing to me to think of all the fun and freedom there could be... yet, balancing that with your significant other and ones own values. All that while fighting expectations from social norms and religious beliefs. I haven't the latter to worry about. The rest though, I have to admit, seems a great hurdle, particularly growing up in a very conservative small rural town and then living in one. My librarian type wife, whose parents are some of the most conservative and insular one could know... to even watch another couple in the flesh, would be a huge step for her, a swift kick in the balls of social norms. But so was getting worked up watching porn videos. Just plain wrong, in the eyes of narrow mindedness. It was a leap to watch it together with my wife for the first time some 30 years ago. Her response then, after only a couple minutes, "I hate to admit it, but I'm getting horny." We've been enjoying porn since. After all that time, I'm now hoping we can watch people enjoying themselves in person.
