We are so excited to see many of you Saturday. The response to this event has been amazing. Ross (the owner) has capped the entry for our event at 300. With the response we have received from the Facebook group and other places, we are anticipating having close to that if not more. I would strongly encourage you to get to the club early if you want to get in.
Entrance: **Important note** Button Up as of Saturday morning will be officially rebranded to "Echo". Look for that sign. Our group will have our own security staff, line and entrance into the club which will expedite getting into the club quite a bit. The entrance is at the main door at 134 Pierpont Ave. Line starts East side of the main doors and the line will form to the East toward the Hilton. Make sure you have proper I.D. Once you get through security you will be directed to the hostess desk to your right. You will pay your entrance at the hostess desk and you will get TWO things. One, your VIP bracelet that gets you access upstairs; and two, each person gets a raffle ticket for our door prize drawings. Once you have those, you will head up the stairs immediately to your right. At the top of the stairs to the right will be the "swag" table with lots of glowsticks and body stickers and things for your enjoyment. They are free for everyone to share, so don't be greedy. There will also be name tags there. I know lots of people are not fans of name tags. These are completely optional. If you want to use them, great. Thank you for the idea Eric.
Payment for Entrance: Cash is preferred as it will make entry a lot faster, but they will have a credit card option for those who need/want it.
Proper Dress: It's a glow party. Bright UV reflective colors. There is no button down shirt dress code for this event. Be creative and have fun with it. Dressing in the glow theme is not a requirement. Come as you are, but be clean and kempt. We've had lots of questions about how edgy we can dress. State statute says all of the areola, genitalia and ass crack (official statute language) have to be covered. I talked with Ross today. I showed him pictures of our lovely model Katana in her sexy glow outfits. He said nothing less than that in the front and nothing less than that in the back. To be clear, if your outfit is covering less than what is being covered by her outfits, then rethink your outfit. That is the official word. I have attached pictures of Katana's outfits (with her permission of course). It should give you all a pretty definitive idea of the edge of what's allowed. Huge thank you to Katana for being our beautiful example model!
Door Prize Drawings: Remember to get your ticket at the hostess desk when you pay and hold onto it. There will be 10 winners. Ross has graciously agreed to donate five $25 vouchers that can go toward your tab for anything that Button Up/Echo sells, including food. Most of you don't know, but they sell bar food there (fries, chicken strips, and such) and it's pretty damn good. It's perfect to help sober up your wife/girlfriend when she gets white girl wasted. Also, we have purchased some high-end "bedroom facilitation tools" and will be giving away five of these. The winning tickets will be picked at random on Monday and the winning numbers will be posted to the Facebook page. So, hold onto your tickets and watch for that post.
Conduct: I know most all of you are perfect angels, but this section is for the one or two that need to be reminded. Though the upstairs is our own semi private area, this is still a public establishment. One with a liquor license to boot. Flirting, kissing, dancing, hugging, cuddling, and touching (club appropriate) are all fine. More than that and you may be warned or asked to leave. There will be security staff patrolling upstairs helping us all remember to be wise in our conduct. The world has their eyes on us, let's show them the amazing, classy people we are.
Consent: It is very important to Janeel and I that we foster and maintain not only a fun, but safe environment for everyone. I know it's easy to get handsy when the alcohol is flowing, but we have a zero tolerance policy at our events for harassment and/or unwanted/non-consensual touching. If this happens to you, please let me, security, or one of the other co-hosts know and it will be dealt with swiftly and surgically. The offenders will be removed from the club and banned from future events and the Facebook page. I don't want this to alarm anyone, especially the newbies. These instances are rare, but we want to be prepared so we keep everyone safe.
I'm sorry if any of this has come off as "mansplaining". I have found when things are very clear, it avoids potential problems and frustration. All that being said, we are so excited for the event. This is our inaugural event and are thrilled with the response. It is going to be a fun night with so many amazing people.
