I’m considering signing up for a triathlon. However, I need to brush up on my swimming forum. I know how to swim, but need some coaching on proper technique. Anyone willing to help me out? I can meet at a Vasa that has a pool. Thanks!

James
There are LOTS of great videos on YouTube that will help you tweak your form and technique. I used to swim competitively when I was younger and there are a few simple things you can do to quickly improve. If you're relatively new to competitive swimming one of the best things you can do is use a kickboard to improve your kicking technique and efficiency. Beyond that, tweaking your stroke and learning how and when to breath properly are the other two most important things. Also, if you want to start easy, Bountiful has a yearly family/kid-friendly "triathlon" that is a much easier way to dip your toes in (pun intended) before you try something like open water swimming. Good luck!

ps- If none of the above is helpful I DO train, occasionally, in the pool at Vasa Murray and would be willing to help you out a little bit.

Thanks Evil. I’ll watch some YouTube. If I still feel unsure, I’ll contact you.
IF you're just trying to finish and not shooting for speed, breast stroke is by far the most endurable stroke that still lets you see where you're going.
