Good morning, all. This is turning out to be a huge event! I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for making this and keeping the interest alive. A short recap for those who are just joining the thread (so they don't have to back scroll 6 pages), this event is TONIGHT, 7pm at D&B's downtown, (gateway mall). RSVP either on the party page: Utah Meetup group or the local event page: North Dakota bike and hike. Candy necklaces or bracelets to mark that you're with the group. When you arrive, check in with me if you want to play the challenge game. Otherwise, eat and mingle and have a lot of fun. I can't wait to see you all there!

We had fun. Too shy to put on the candy, this was our first time going to anything but we did win ourselves our own flamingo, lol. Maybe next meet up we will be brave and let everyone know who we are we had to go next door and eat though because the food service was waaaay too slow. Hope you all had so much fun!

Hey all! So the Meetup at D&B's went well for some, but not so good for others. The biggest complaints I've had so far was the terribly long wait for a seat, too many kids and overall difficulty in finding participants. Complaints heard and we're working on those as we speak. The unappointed council has been brainstorming and we think we have a solution.
The northern Utah collective is growing so I want to throw out an idea... Ogden Brewvies night! No kids, smaller venue, cheaper and we can reserve our tickets in advance. I want to see who's interested. This would be planned for mid December for a little early Christmas bash. Throw out some dates that work best for you guys.

Would you guys allow single guys? I split my time between Salt Lake and the bay are and my would be βcoupleβ lives in San Fransisco but she would encourage me to get out and have fun.

So people would meet but watch a movie instead of talking and getting to know each other? I'm just going by the layout of the Salt Lake Brewvies as it's bar/pool area really isn't big enough to accommodate a large group, But, typically, the holidays are a tough time to get people out so perhaps a December meet-up could work there. Or, if it's bigger than the Salt Lake one, my point is moot.
I was going to suggest a bar like A Bar Named Sue on Highland Drive. It's relatively uncrowded most of the time and quiet enough for people to actually talk. D&B's was just too noisy especially if you were anywhere near those big damned TV's.
Also the Union in Ft Union. They have a private room that you just need to call ahead to reserve
