First of all, I’d like to thank everyone for attending the 14th Annual NxN Utah Campout. The time we had there was amazing even though it was cut short. Although we had a large group permit, the U.S. Forest Service decided to revoke our permit after 2 officers came through and witnessed nudity, selling of merchandise, and some of the structures. They felt that it was a display of lewdness and that it violated their National Forest rules. Unfortunately, I was issued 7 citations for multiple violations of Forest Service rules. Needless to say, we will no longer hold future NXN at that location. We actually have been looking for private land to rent or purchase for quite some time now. So, if anyone knows of a nice green, secluded piece of property with water rights. Please email us at [email protected]. We will be having a FREE event for those who attended NxN to make for a lost day and for those who didn't arrive early. The makeup party is Call Of Booty. Aug. 11th Check the Swingular event page or RisqueSoiree.com for details.
EVENT HOSTING- It’s an unfortunate fact — hosting a sex-positive event comes with inherent risks. Especially in Utah where that are still laws on the books that state any type of oral sex is against the law. So, whether you are hosting a house party or having a meet and greet at a local bar, as the host, you still risk having unwanted encounters with law enforcement and allowing or serving alcohol compounds these risks. In Utah the list of DABC (Dept. of Alcohol and Beverage Control) rules about alcohol and especially alcohol involving sexuality is so long I won’t even begin to attempt to list them. Add to that the fact that there are so many people in the U.S. that are so uncomfortable about any type of sexuality that everyone that is not in the lifestyle can become a potential snitch. If you have never hosted a sex-positive lifestyle event with over 6 guests, here are just a few things that hosts have to consider.
1. Parking- Are neighbors going to call the police, or H.M.O because you have too many cars parked outside your house?
2. Noise- Most city and campground noise ordinances begin at 10pm. Is your music too loud? Are your guests talking and laughing too loud?
3. Nudity- Nudity is technically illegal everywhere in Utah. If someone can see you naked and that person is not inside your house, or what is considered your house, it’s Illegal. With the new topless law that just passed, you can be topless with pasties, but that’s it.
4. Alcohol- The elephant in the room. There are so many laws attached to this one, I can’t list them all. Just know there is an inherent liability on a host with just serving alcohol period. Over serving and letting any intoxicated persons get behind the wheel of a vehicle can have devastating repercussions for a host. Not to mention the potential of harm to the guests or the innocents they may encounter on the way home. Not to mention, the intoxicated person/people that change the energy of the event from a “sex-positive event” to a “Frat party.”
With all that being said, next time you attend a lifestyle event, thank your hosts for hosting and for taking a risk to provide everyone with a safe space to party.
