We are now in the testing phase of our new Instant Messenger. If you've noticed a little red window loading whenever you log into the site, that's it. In order to use the IM, you'll need to download and install the latest Java software from Sun Microsystems. This is pretty standard with most systems and will soon be a standard on all Microsoft operating systems. You will find more and more sites will require you to make this download to use any Java software.
You can get the latest Java software by clicking this link:
http://www.java.com
We will keep you posted when we have fully implemented the new IM. We will include instructions on how to use it. Until then, you can play with it yourselves and send us any feedback you may have.
Enjoy!
---UPDATE--- The Instant Messeger feature is now fully functional and working!

This is our favorite method of keeping tabs on our on-line friends. Looking forward to the start-up of your IM program. We prefer this to chat for conversing with members we are already familiar with and chat to talk to and meet new friends.
While browsing the members who are on-line we noticed that some have an instant messenger tab on their information bar. Are they connecting with some other IM program or are they beta testers of your new and improved IM? If connecting through some other IM program, how does one go about setting your profile up to take advantage of this feature?
The IM feature actually works now. In order to use it, you must have java installed on your computer. Most computer users do. To check, you can go to http://www.java.com and it will tell you if you do or not. If not, it will ask if you want to install it. Once installed, just click on the Instant Message button to IM someone. If their IM is on, they'll get your message!
We clicked on the hypertext link you provided and downloaded the Java plugin and installed it. There is still no instant messenger button on our information bar. Is this program set up to where you will only see it on other members names and you click on the button by their names? In our settings we have indicated that we wanted to enable the instant messenger feature.
Also, and sorry to forget to mention this in our last reply, where exactly on the homepage screen will this small red window be located and will it remain in place while logged-in?
great idea....although almost evryone has aol or yahoo im this is much more convienent than jumping to another program....cant wait ot give it a test run! thanks
Hi.
Isn't it a good idea to add a MSN messenger email address to a profile? I think there are many couples that would like to chat via MSN messenger.
