I wish that people who are not on the site would log out. This is annoying if you have instant messenger. I have not once been succesful in instant messaging anyone, due to I am guessing that they are not even on-line. I will keep trying. I have noticed though that the ones it says are on line, a majority of them have been on line since I became a member. Just something to consider to make contact less frustrating.
We are on a cable modem and stay logged in all day and evening even when we are not here, saves on clicking buttons. To address the instant messenger issue...we feel an email from someone first is a better approach than an IM first...find out if there is an interest before Im'ing for idle conversation. We typically turn off all messenger services unless we intend to talk to someone we met from mail first. There is nothing more irritating than getting an IM from couples who just looked at the pics and have not read the profile when there is nothing in common...then we also keep OFF the IM features so NOT to be hounded by the single guys that obviously cannot have read our profile.
Also, people like ourselves, Already have a chat program. The last thing we want is another opened up when we connect to certain websites. We don't have the function turn on as far as I know and have no interest in turning it on. So though we might be online you won't be able to IM us thru the site.
Amen Cloud...we keep all IM's turned off or we are inudated by single males...If a couple wants to talk by IM, mail us and then we will turn it on for you or go to yahoo
