can anyone tell me why and if the " I am not a robot " thing on the log in screen is there and if it is going away?
it is a security method to keep the webots off the site. it actually works very well despite how simple it is. Learn to live with it cause you are going to start seeing this everywhere.
really..... that is a good thing that its working I just never understood why it came up so much. but thank you letting me know and giving me a better understanding about it man
Other sites have similar security features but they let us pick out the topless pic from a bunch of sexy ladies in bikinis. At least that's fun and appropriate for the site and not totally stupid. But I'll trade stupid for the site letting us embed videos again...yeah like that will happen.
Really?? It's working?? I must be dumb as rocks. I don't seem to know the difference between a car and an airplane until the second try. Get booted the first time...always.

Think I need a tutor.
Hate is not a strong enough word when it comes to captua. And no it would not prevent a bot, especially the I am not a robot. A simple script could manage it as it is always in the same spot, delay and login childs play. But yes it gives people a false sense of security kind of like TSA or a Neighborhood watch sign.

Myself, we can live with the simple I am not a robot. Once I have to start typing long squiggly words than we will go elsewhere as I have a hard time with the squiggly things and will find some place that doesn't piss me off.
Admin is going overboard with this robot blocking tool. I would like him to tone it down a bit, use one where you just read a few blurred digits or something. I do not think he needs something this complex.
Yep...think the Tudor will work out fine...send her by..huh?
Glad we're not the only ones having issues with it
Damn it! I KNOW grass when I see it! This sucks. Not frustrated or nothing...nope.
Question. Have web bots been a big problem on Swingular? I mean, I know that robots are going to take over the world eventually (apparently long before global climate change kills us all off) but would having sex with a robot REALLY be all that bad?

The whole premise with capctcha is to avoid automation. Unless you plan on spending your whole life changing and maintaining it, forget it. Any basic coder can use script, and various other ways to scrape the page and avoid capctcha. I have done so myself on many pages when they annoyed me. Sometimes coders will give out their solution to your capctcha just because they hate it. You end up making your site a target instead of secure. I also know you can't tell anyone anything, and people love stupid squigley things, annoying crosseyed things that I can't read, and cookies. So knock yourself out. A year from now when you are still fighting problems and updating your code yet again to avoid this same issue, think of this conversation
My biggest problem with this new photo version of reCAPTCHA is that the pics look like something from a blurry, circa 1980's, Eastern European photo collage.

"Pleez to peek out peekture of glorious beelding weeth sexy babushka peeking from weendow."

50-75% of my login attempts end with "cannot contact reCaptcha. Check your connection and try again"
My connection is fine, this system is... I'm at a loss. There are no swear words to accurately describe how much I hate it.
"Please keep clicking on all images with storefronts until no more storefronts pop up"...it's like wacky the mole.
My fav is when the login page loads and it doesn't load correctly and the top of the reCAPTCHA page won't scroll down so I can't see the question and I have to guess which pictures have something in common to venture a guess as to what the fucking question was. I feel really good about myself when I guess right and I immediately go to the Jeopardy website to sign up to be a contestant.
If you can't tell kosher meat from non-kosher, wtf are you doing on a swing site? Sheesh! #itsnothemeatitsthemotion
