Does anybody have a secret to a nice smooth shave of the pubic area, and how to avoid the nasty red bumps, for both men and woman?
Never shave against the grain. Hot lather works best and a straight razor if you know or can learn how to use one is best. Pre shave lotion and heat and keep the area wet. Shave with the grain and then across it if you want it smooth. Against it lifts the hairs out of the skin and creates small ingrown hairs.
Have straight razor will travel haha

The easiest to use is Neutrogena liquid bath soap, no bumps and is nice and smooth.
Trim down REALLY close with clippers or trimmers then use one of these with some medical grade corn starch (available at your pharmacy) as a lubricant.

Get some "Smooth Me" from European Wax Center it's an ingrown hair serum that does wonders for eliminating the red bumps.
Good luck and let me know if you need help applying it.

QUANTUMENTAGLEMENTS: You might want to try the old fashioned double edged single blade razors. I think they give a smoother, much less irritating, shave. At least face/neck. For other stuff, I'm a fan of waxing, which NEVER results in bumps or rashes or anything. Or any rough, scratchy stubble when hairs start to come back in.
And I've read a lot of bad stuff about the No Nos, all of it saying the claims they make for it are ridiculous.

Wife wanted laser hair removal. Best money I have ever spent. It's been several years and it's still so smooth and soft. No stubble.
WD40 helps with the smoothing and I find 500 grit sandpaper does just fine with the little red bumps
.. but on a serious side, we only use soap and water and razors from the Dollar Shave Club..

Unlike shaving, or even waxing, which removes the entire hair, root and all, lasers kill the follicle, which is the organ that creates the hair. No follicle, no more hair, ever.
epilator!
