Do you use a router?Maybe a firewall is active somewhere in your system. We used to get a similar problem transferring files on Yahoo Messenger. It seems it was the router causing the problem.
i can't post pics directly to forums either, but if i post them in my profile pics first, i can then post to forums....i don't know why....it's a pain, but at least i can post pics in forums
ok folks ,, I finally got to load pics in forums by using the Firefox browser , it works well with any service you use to connect to the internet. it stores the cookies seperately in its on browser , the reason i couldnt post using AOL is Aol was using a damaged cookie and it wouldnt work! Firefox found it and replaced it with a new cookie in its browser...so go here http://download-firefox.org/ to get what you really need and start posting those lovely Body`s ,,, PssssT ass shots are my Fave

tammynwalt, thanks so much, firefox did the trick!!!!
TammynWalt...
Thanks for the suggestion...I will try that and see what happens. I know that I am not alone when I say that this problem is ridiculous. It has been going on, for me, since last summer.
Anyway lets see...if it works you should see a pic of a shadow in the sand

--Nope...didn't work...it does the same thing that it does in IE 6.0. It says that everything has uploaded successfully but nothing shows up in the message when I save it.

We used to be able to upload pics with no problem but can't anymore. I don't know if it's Norton 2006 like someone suggested or something else. We've even disabled Norton and tried it but it still didn't work.
I did notice that we never really had the problem until the site crashed a while back. Wonder if that had something to do with it.
He gets frustrated with it and calls the problem the "Knocker Blocker!"
Guess we'll keep the pics to ourselves until they fix it

Ok. I took Wanda's suggestion and experimented a bit. It seems that the pic loader for the photo albums being on the page instead of a pop-up works within the security settings of SP2 and once loaded through adding to the album it allows the adding through the pop-up. I added a pic to our album and then mailed myself a DIFFERENT pic and the attachment worked. So until I figure out how to get the pop-up itself to be allowed by SP2 without loading to the album all that should be needed is to load some one pixel gif to the album and attach away from there. So Wanda.... you don't have to double add! Now, to put this to it's test of "once loaded stays loaded....."
Ahh, thank you..... thank you very much..... (in typical bad Elvis Impression style.... Lol)
we used to have firefox and it almost cost us everything....bank accounts, business info, private personal info all left open to the world.
Seems firefox had a few open backdoors that are easy access for hackers.
Our son is a puter security guru for dell.....and a hacker....(best person for puter security is a hacker.....lol)
We loaded firefox and started noticing money dissappearing from our bank accounts .....20 here 50 here so on and so forth........also noticed people knew stuff about us that we never told anyone but kept info on puter......our son did some checking and from his home 50 miles away found our i p addy and was not only in our puter in (he said) 10 mins but also was able to "ghost " our puter and see our passwords and what page we were on.
We have now gone back to explorer and dont want to try firefox again. our son says that if anyone has a version of firefox make sure they have the security updates and norton security as well.
just something to ponder for those of you with firefox.

I'll have to try that ctrl button thing sometime. Thanks.
And I rather suspected firefox had that problem, which is one of the reasons I wouldn't use it. Thanks for sharing that!

Motorcyclcple: The problems you were having was probably caused by Spyware installed on your machine, Virus's or Trojans. Any browser can be at fault if you install bad things, but if you don't allow deny certain things like this (Firefox, blocks all these out of the box) then you wont have any problems. As far as your son being able to break into your computer, you probably don't have a firewall on your home line, the modem isn't is a firewall, I would suggest getting one, Linksys makes a rather nice Router/Firewall.
All I'm saying I guess is that EVERY computer is not really safe, no matter what browser you use, unless you take some necessary steps to protect it like the Firewall, a Router (to only allow certain ports in), Virus Protection, Anti Spy-ware software.
If you have Spy-ware on your machine, Goggle "Microsoft AntiSpyware", this is a nice program to use to remove annoying Spyware, and free to boot (you have have to have a VALID copy of windows, but everyone does right? <smirk> )
I hope I've helped in some way here.

OK I have tried to up load pics several times... am going to try this Ctrl key to see if it works
OMG the Ctrl key worked... woohooooooooo... yey,,, yeehawwww
I typed what ever I was going to type and then I hit CTRL and attached the file.... leave it pressed till it uploads.. then hit save... that is how it worked for me
OK I take it back... that stopped working for me also... can't upload any more
Browse to the attachment, make sure that the file is less than 1MB, preferably less than 500K. Make sure that it is a jpg, gif or png. I don't think tif, bmp or any other compressed/uncompressed format will work. Then select "upload attachment", wait for the attachment upload progress bar to complete and the words "ATTACHMENT UPLOADED SUCCESSFULLY" to appear. Type out your post and then left click the "save" button.
well I tried what you said Don and nothing... it won't even let me left click like you said... oh well
TR, That is one kickass art... was it random or do you know who did that one?
Not sure. I have a bunch of them though.
Here's a nuddin.
Perhaps another...
That's a great one... I'm pretty much building up a digital library of artwork I like that I come across... Either by subject or artist. This one is titled, Persephone found in CGWorks forum... Artist in uncredited It's real good stuff.
Edit:
Whoops... Needed to resize it. It was originally 1050 X 789
