My husband and his brother are signed up to attend Burning Man this year. They looking for camps to join. They are happy to help on any projects to help the community. Do you have any suggestions?
Last year I went filled the back of my truck with a thousand bottles of ice & water hand no issue meeting friends and getting to join other groups in fun, drinking, and sex. You may want to slide that idea past them.

What did you do to keep the ice cool? Great idea!
If we go, it sure won't be to the one in Nevada. When it started at Baker Beach in the '80s it was a kind of counterculture thing. Now it's a big business run by an LLC, even if Larry Harvey is the Executive Director. You have to have a couple grand to throw at it, it seems to go up every year, AND your free labor is still expected. Yes. they do have to spend money on permitting and stuff, but they're still making money, which was NOT how or why it was started. I dunno, maybe I'm hopelessly anachronistic, but the main underlying theme of the whole counterculture thing was the rejection of materialism. Most all counterculture things seem to have either disappeared or been commercialized.
But I believe there's one in Utah that's more reasonable and closer to the original thing. Anybody know anything about that one?

it is called E11 but they are changing that as well... They are allowing you to bring children so nudity and such is not allowed anymore

Are you sure about the children?? I know they posed the question, but it was a hypothetical on a questionnaire. They hold an event that children are allowed at every year called Decompression. Children have no place at E11.

Converted an refer truck with propane instead refer fuel. The newer refer trucks got nicer units that use less fuel so might find one you can hook up a bigger tank too.
Agree w/ TMACA. Burning Man is becoming about big bucks. It's Disneyland for counterculture wannabes. Not unlike Sturgis which is now corporate sponsored and the playground of accountants and dentists who want to pretend to be badasses for a few days. Wanna go build shit in the desert? Go help build a school on a Native American reservation...or better yet in a third world country.
Those who have never been to the big burn will never understand and should be left to their ignorance!

Nudity is allowed even with the kiddies there this year. One way it is being implemented is that all adult related theme camps are on the opposite side of the event from the kid area. Apparently there will be do not cross road for kids.
As a couple that loves to run around naked at these events we are planning on keeping our nakedness to our camp this year to see how it goes. Box Elder SO seems to think it will be fine. At BM the two are mixed. You see kids everywhere and nudity is flagrantly displayed. What is not allowed is public sexual activity. However, it goes on as well.
E-11 will be interesting this year.
I do not attend, I was just stating what my daughter said as she attends, I do not know that she knew about that..I am sorry I mispoke
If you are going to BM 2016 message us!
Well, we are very curious how it will work. I could see a charge as a sexual predictor sought by some religious nut prosecutor.
Best to be safe in Zion!

This is Mr. Kink. Thanks for all the replies. I wasn't able to get tickets to burning man. So, I'm going to element 11 (first time going) for sure. Possibly my brother and my wife, if we can find a babysitter.
