Looking for a club that plays it all night

Area 51 last we checked didn't have a full tech night but will check into the others listed thanks

Eivl have you ever been to a mosh pit but don't think there one here in Utah

Sad thus far only Goth, Industral, Deathrock, IDM no straight EBM aka Electronic Balanced Music techno clubs on the clubs listed. So if anyone knows of a straight EBM Dance club please add it to the list. We haven't been to this high intense dancing since Boise.

Do they have a location since all morning been listening to Draco Lux mix's and been craving a dance club of this sort.

polka don't you need a partner for that style of dancing?

That is so true! And so AWESOME! I hope you got that on tape! I once got tossed from an Irish bar by a man with a hook for a hand for drunkenly attempting an Irish accent. They took offense, needless to say...that was the one and only time I got "bounced". Other than my mothers knee, but I wasn't drunk at the time, or that I know of. That woman is strong! It was actually last Christmas.

we plan on doing The Hotel Bar and Nightclub / Elevate but they will call us when Blood Pack is coming thru or DRACO LUX, but in the mean time hoping to find a local dance club that plays this style every week end since when I like going to a mash pit normally have to go to a underground event.

I was just talking to Mrs Pants about mosh pits on Monday. That's so funny. I wondered who the hell would want to be in a mosh pit besides pugilistic teens with a lot of angst. But here I have found real moshers over 40! I am flabbergasted. Don't you get hurt? Like a lot? Head trauma perhaps?

did area 51 once but couldn't get into Industrial, or punk and goth to many spikes for a normal dance night.

But since EBM is friendly dancing for the wife of High energy dancing with out the physical part is what I'm looking for. What I do on my own is different than what i'm looking for as a couple.

This is Mork speaking. We love dancing for similar reasons (energy, exercise, creative improvisation, social exploration). The key for a swinger couple is to be in a place where you won't get punched in the nose for smiling at another man's girlfriend. That's a true risk at many of the downtown clubs which attract mostly college-aged hulks. It's hard to find a good club that also has a good DJ around SLC. Habits is still our usual hang out simply for the couples we know there. The Habits DJ plays full songs unlike most EBM DJ's. Sometimes we really like this approach vs the sporadic sectionalized mixups most of the EBM DJ's focus on delivering. On the other hand, Habits DJ mostly plays Top 40 music which usually lacks the energy to get a true workout. The Skybar sometimes hosts pretty good DJ's and is probably the best high energy club. But on the downside, the people at the Skybar are not nearly as interesting as other venues. It reminds me of a vegas club, where the entire venue is designed around separating the rich party hosts from the rest, with private sections roped off from the regular visitors. At times, there are literally no chairs available to sit and rest outside one of the "private reserved" seating areas that go... you guessed it... unused. Please do let us know if you find anything out there as we too.. would love to find High Energy music that plays late.

For edm techno depends on the night usually Wednesday nights the office downtown, huka bar and sky slc on Thursdays sometimes hotel, Fridays typically moose lounge, Saturday depends.

Is EBM kinda like EDM? And the EDM scene (if thats what you're looking for) now is about seeing a particular DJ or going to a big festival more than its about going to a particular club. The bingest name DJ's go to Park City Live, SKY on Thursdays for "Therapy Thursdays" and also sometimes places like the Complex, the Depot and the Venue. Soltair holds most of the big music festivals, which are lots of fun but also a very young crowd. Hopefully that helps.

do any of these venues do Friday nights that you know of?

There isn't enough of a paying crowd here yet to support just a general EDM club. Look for events on Facebook, like the pages of the clubs listed above (esp Sky and the Hotel), and download the EDM Train app. Also follow V2 Productions, they put out good shows, like Get Lucky coming up in March. It's going to have some good stuff.

Oh and for sure Park City Live too.
